thyroid levels & lyme

Here's a question for those of you with some experience/knowledge about thyroid levels & lyme. A bunch of years ago my first diagnosis was hypothyroidism... and over the course of working with a few different doctors got put on an array of thyroid hormone supplements (nature thyroid, levothyroxine, and straight T3). Now my T3 and T4 levels are in the right range, though my TSH is waaaay low... The integrative doctors I've worked with aren't concerned about this. Any mainstream doctor would say I'm being over-medicated, or even that I don't need thyroid replacement at all.

I got diagnosed with lyme a couple years ago and put it together than my thyroid stuff is really just a symptom of the lyme. Still, it seems I need to be on the thyroid supplementation until my lyme is better.

That said, I'm concerned that I'm being overmedicated... I'm so tired all of the time... And have spells where I am just bleary eyed... It has a bit of the quality of being overrun, which makes me wonder if all the thyroid hormone is "running" my system too much.

Then again, it could simply be fatigue from killing lyme.

My adrenals are weak. When tested, my adrenal stimulating hormone level was super high, indicating that my adrenals aren't functioning properly. I've been doing what I can to help them heal (adaptogens, meditation).

It's hard for me to know if I have hyperthyroid symptoms or simply lyme symptoms. I feel fatigued and overrun. Some heart palpitations, anxiety, and insomnia could be hyperthyroid. The thyroid hormone counterintuitively helped me gain a few pounds back when I started on it.

My integrative doctor (who is treating me for lyme) agreed to try to wean me off of some of the thyroid hormone and see how it goes. I'm nervous because it's what helped me be able to do anything at all again.. But I'm excited because my intuition tells me I'm being overmedicated and might even feel better without it.

Totally. I think that causes me some anxiety.. It's hard to have to try stuff out on yourself and see if you get better or worse! Probably doesn't help that I already have anxiety from the lyme itself! Thanks for your thoughts :)
