so I just found out my 15 year illness is lyme, and I got it from my fathers favorite stomping grounds. he spent a good chunk of his life in this area in northern California, and took me n my five siblings there for a good chunk of our lives too.
he died last year of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, no known cause, although a biopsy revealed bird protein in his lungs. he was given 2 years to live with steroid treatments, and lived 5 because he refused to take steroids the first three years. but he wound down like a clock when he begun taking steroids, 2 years after he started, he passed away.
but obviously, if ive had lyme for 15 years and got it from his favorite camping/wilderness area, he must have had it. and now that I know the symptoms and signs, it just shows me how much of his actions and personality was really lyme disease affecting him.
so I was reading a post about lyme and lungs and there was a mention of Histoplasmosis, which is a common infection in lymies due to immune suppression. I read that it can be cured with antibiotics and or antifungals. when I further researched this condition, I found that the worst thing for it are steroids, which will cause death of the patient being treated with them to die within 2 years. lymies with histoplasmosis experience full recovery when treated properly, where pulmonary fibrosis is a death sentence.
I just find it crazy that both idiopathic PF and histoplasmosis share the same definition, symptoms and stages are the same, both are common with lyme, except for they are two different diseases. pulmonary fibrosis is a death sentence, and with the use of steroids, the patient can expect a 2 year life expectancy following diagnosis; wheraeas histoplasmosis is curable, and the use of steroids for treatment will cause the patient to die within 2 years.............................. am I the only one thinking this s weird?
would like some feedback as my dad was cremated and tests can not be done to prove my theory
