Has anyone here experienced bad paranoia from Lyme?

Yes - I was absolutely convinced that my husband and kids were "out to get me" even though I couldn't explain exactly what that meant - and other things. It took a lot of work to get past it, but I did - and so can you. Hang in there!!

Some areas are lucky enough to have Lyme literate psychologist. If you would like, and if you wouldn't mind telling me what area to look in, I'd be happy to look through my list to see if I have a listing for one that you could go see. The other option you have is to ask here on this forum (& other Lyme forums) for someone that is seeing a LL psychologist in your area to share this information with you.

Thank you for your kind words, Wildlife Artist!! I'm actually doing pretty well this time around - no major herxing and some improvements in my symptoms are already being seen!!

Nothing in Iowa in my list - are you close enough to a border state to travel there? I"d be happy to check on those states as well!!

I do have one listed in Champaign, IL. if you are interested in going there. Maybe after a visit or two something can be worked out or maybe they know of a LL psychiatrist/psychologist closer to you? If you would like the information, just send me an email and ask.

I'll be looking around a bit, as I thought there was a LL psyc doc in Mo, but haven't found the info yet. I'll let you know if I find it though.

Well, I can't find any information on a LL Psychologist or Psychiatrist very close to you. I'm so sorry!! You can try a couple of things though:

Find a Psychologist or Psychiatrist that deals with chronic illnesses near you- at least they would understand that this is due to your chronic illness.

or you can post to places like MD Junction's Lyme forum. I noticed they have a lot of requests for LL Psychologists/psychiatrists. Maybe someone over there would know of one near you?

I'm so sorry that I couldn't be of more help!! Know that this will go away though. It's a symptom of your infection.
