Life is fatal. I remind myself of that every day. A common cold can be fatal. A peanut butter sandwich. Walking across the street can be fatal.
The guy who started the ALS ice bucket challenge probably doesn't have much time left. Ironically, his perfectly healthy buddy who helped start the ice bucket challenge with him, just died in a boating accident. Even when you are in the best of health, you just never know. So we have to keep reality in check.
The point is don't stress about lyme too much. With treatment, you can get your health back.
I also think the point is to bring some awareness that lyme can be fatal. It's not a forget about it disease. If you have diabetes and it causes a heart attack that kills you, did you die from a heart attack or from diabetes? Lyme will never be listed as a primary cause of death and maybe that is the real issue, because then it's just not taken seriously in the medical world.
