ID dr massachusetts

Hi all
I've had an llmd since last July....they have helped me so kindly, but I struggle with oral ABX. I've gone down hill fast ...I've been bed ridden since jan with seizures and all the other symptoms.
Is there such a thing as an ID dr that is willing to help. I only get a positive with anaplasmosis, but false positive for lyme, and neg for babs....I really feel I have babs
I'm hoping there is an ID dr in mass that will help me. I need to be in a hospital and no one is able to help. My llmd does not have admitting rights. Please tell me if such an ID dr exists in this world

Welcome to our community! I'm so very sorry that you are this bad off!! I would second Garden Peace's suggestion of a different LLMD - or maybe a LLND would be better for you? Seizures sometimes indicated a body that's not detoxing very well, or may have been exposed to mold or other possibilities and it doesn't sound like your LLMD is capable of dealing with this.

I wouldn't suggest an ID doc either. The Society that they belong to completely denies chronic Lyme disease as an ongoing infection, won't treat past 90 days even for the worst cases, and believe that the testing is very accurate - even though all those things have been scientifically proven wrong.

There are very, very few false positives for Lyme disease. Do you have your test results? We could go over them with you once you are stabilized some so that you can see this too. I'm not saying that you have Lyme, only that you should be suspicious when someone says "false positive for Lyme disease" as the tests are not very sensitive. That's one of the things we fight for is better tests that can detect more than just 40% of those that are infected.

Barbra, I have had nothing but bad experiences at the hands of MA ID Drs., one refused to test me for bart because I don't own a cat and another completely refused to acknowledge the existence of chronic lyme. Run away I say, MA ID Drs. are far too aligned with IDSA.

I know I have lyme as I had the bulls eye and started ABX right away....obviously I just need to find a way to handle more ABX

Barbra I am so sorry you are this sick! I am on the Cape and have an alternative dr. in Boston who treats without antibiotics. I also went to Sponaugle Wellness so I might be able to give you some ideas on what to look for as far as a diagnosis. From what you are writing I have the hunch that your LLMD is missing part of the puzzle. At Sponaugle I was diagnosed with Ehrlichia, Babesia, possible Bartonella, Chlamydia Pneumoniae, and Protomyxzoa (mosquito borne parasite). I also have HLA and MTHFR genetic mutations, black mold exposure, and heavy metals. A good book to read is Beyond Lyme Disease by Connie Strasheim.
