Good luck! My son just turned 16 and it was impossible to get him to a dr. - he was misdiagnosed all year last year and does not trust anyone.... let me know if you need to commiserate... eileen

I am in NJ. It's hard when they go through so much and so many doctors and still feel like c--- and we can't get them well in our ignorance. I asked EVERY doctor if it could be related to lyme he had four years ago - they all said, NO. HE IS HEALED. REALLY???????????????

He was not, it was lyme, took me months to get it and not listen and find Dr. B by chance on a blog. Now he has a psych dr. and a lyme bugs dr. also.

A couple of times he was ready to jump out of the car at red lights, it's all been a nightmare - lyme rage is awful.

PS Dr. Burrascano was practicing on Long Island - he was one of the best - he has published treatments - you could look into that. I watched Under Our Skin and I'm reading Cure Unknown. Dealing with a boy, a teen and lyme is just a mixture for the perfect storm!

You could contact ILADS and I think they will send you a list - you just have to register. They can guide you to lyme drs. near you. I understand completely out of control - TOTALLY - it was my life all last year and much of this until recently - very recently - but new ticks... he put his fist through the wall the other day - still, rather mild compared to raging.

The response from ILADS was in a day or two by email.

Also, try typing in the search section above... something like LYME, Long Island, LLMD and see what comes up - others may have hit on this already and you may see contacts there to email and ask for full names.


I have to ask, is your son on a special lyme diet yet? That's been fun this summer - trying to keep the family on the " lyme diet " - rather than "punishing or depriving " him.
