We have our first appointment for my 5 year-old son this Friday, Sept. 5, with Dr. J in DC.
We are trying to figure out if my wife and I should both make this first visit. It would mean pulling my other son out of school for most of the week, and some other disruptions.
We figure that this first appointment will be my son's physical exam, blood draws, information gathering on my son's medical history, etc. This is important stuff, but I think one of us being there could provide that information. I'm thinking I could even call my wife during the appointment so she can weigh in. I'm thinking that they are not going to have much information for us until after the results from the blood-work comes back from IGeneX.
I was thinking that it would be this second appointment (hopefully via phone instead of another trip to DC??) where we would get the information/treatment plan from Dr. J and his staff.
Am I correct in these assumptions? If you have been through this process with Dr. J in DC, what are your thoughts on both of us going up on this first visit?? Is just one of us needed on this first visit??
Any advice you might offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Paul
