Hi there Gabe...it is hard to distinguish some yeast/candida symptoms from lyme stuff. Do you have a white tongue would be one of the indications (or at least it is for me)? Or have you noticed alot of dandruff developing in your head? Or patches of clear area but itchy like skin (mine seems to come along my jaw line when I got yeast issues flaring-weird)?
You may or may not even have a yeast issue! You were on a course of abx for approx a month right? Some people will develop quick imbalance of good bacteria in gut from abx but it is possible that you dodged a bullet with only being on abx an approx month. Its after months and months that the yeast really starts taking its toll for most. Personally, I am not a doctor but if you have only done the abx for a month, you probably have some yeast flourishing but it may not be systemic like mine has been in past or alot of us here.
Which antifungal are you considering? If it is Diflucan, I would say if you are not really having any "stand-out" symptoms then just do a single dose of 150mg of Diflucan. This would be probably perfect for you as this is the single dose doc's prescribe to get rid of a normal yeast infection. Also, since you say you will not be taking anymore antibiotics I think that would be sufficient.
I love Act. Charcoal, but keep in mind this wipes everything "OUT" of your stomach & gut...the good and the bad (vitamins, meds, subtances, etc.). It is my fav for nausea. When I feel the need for act. charcoal, I will take 1 or 2 capsules before bed at night. Ill make sure I hadnt ate in couple hours and take with water. Then the next day, Bowel-M takes place (comes out black) and bye bye toxins.
So I would think, take your anti-fungal first. After that has done its job, take your activated charcoal to do a 'clearing' of stuff. Then the next day after act. charcoal be sure to replenish all your body's vitamins in every way (mainly make sure you take a multivitamin and continue with probiotics would be the essentials).
All in all, it doesnt "sound" like your yeast is systemic, BUT if it is, then yes you made need to twirk my advice a little but hopefully this info gives you a little base-line to run off of.
Best of health to you & xx's!
