I started treatment last month, which includes orals and IV. I am starting to feel discouraged because my symptoms are the same. I thought having the IV would help a lot. The one thing I can say is my anxiety is a lot better, but everything else is pretty much the same (twitching, tingling & bone pain). Is this normal?

I was pretty good about eliminating gluten and sugar, but I was still eating fruit and kombucha (which I know has sugar), could that be apart of the problem?

I see you have lyme and babesia.. have you treated for Bart? Bart in my opinion is the nastiest and toughest out of all of them, and has one of the highest incident rates with lyme.

Bart for me creates terrible muscle twitching, tingling and pain like you described.. I get those symtpoms when I herx from my bart meds..

Funny you say that, the first LLMD said I had babesia per Igenix test, but I came out neg for Bart. Then the 2nd LLMD I saw ran more test and it came out negative for babesia and positive for bart. So I am still confused about that.

what kind of bart meds do you take?

Well based on what you said, I can bet you that's what's going on. You probably have babesia and bartonella, and possibly other coinfections. Such a nasty experience isn't it. Though you showed one positive test for bart.. and you're showing classic bartonella symptoms.. You should talk to your doctor about this, and possibly start treating for bart and see how you start feeling. Bart in my opinion is a monster, and is really hard to take control of. So the faster the treatment for that the better. Hang in there, finding the proper treatment, finally getting all the right diagnosis, then having the will power to do the treating.. It's very tough... Just keep fighting and know that if something isn't working that it's common with tic related diseases, and something else will work better. Keep treating hard, talking to your doctor and exploring your options.

Oh sorry, for Bart .. I'm currently on Zithromax and bactrim and hydroxychloroquine. Cipro and Levo are also used to treat Bart, and usually are the most aggressive at fighting bart, but that comes with cons.. cipro and levo are in a class of antibiotics that has some really bad side effects with certain people.. If you can handle those drugs, they really attack bart hard.. I have also read people using Rifampin with other drug combinations for bart with a lot of success. There are many different approaches to tackling bart. Remember though my combination is a little weird because I'm treating all 3 infections at once since my body is tolerating it.

According to your signature you have possibly been sick since 2003? Which is about as long as me.

I have been treating for several months and don't feel better yet either. I have been herxing on the herbal medicines I am taking but I think it just takes time. I know that doesn't make you feel better but I think it is normal

Sarahm, yes, I was infected in 2003 and never really had any symptoms until about 4 years ago. Your right, it takes time. I just thought since I am taking so many darn abx I would feel 100x better, guess its just a slow process. My one saving grace is that my anxiety is a lot better. I am grateful for that.
