If it was me, I would take the zithro for a few days - do you have a supply left over? I would want to nip it in the bud. And a few more days of abx won't harm you.
If you get a response...then you'll know.

First of all, many find that their first symptoms to come on are their last symptoms to leave. Hopefully this is the case for you and you won't be dealing with this for long.

It must be possible for herxing to occur with this therapy as well, right? Maybe you are herxing? The timing would be about right.

The probiotic is to help your intestines, not your bladder, so that shouldn't have had anything to do with it - although not having it might still make you feel bad.

If things continue to worsen, then I would say that you should step up the herbs you mentioned that you are still on and call your doc. Otherwise, I think I would look at this as a herx.

Have you asked the magnet Dr. if this is typical, and what he recommends? I'm very interested in what you thought of the magnet treatment since I'm scheduled to go to one in a few weeks.

Hello everyone - thank you for all of your responses. Girlie - yes I have zithro leftover, but I don't think I will be taking it just yet. As traveler advised - it may be a herx, or even something triggered by the magnets. My LLMD said I may herx from the therapy, and the Dr who performed it said I would feel very weak and sluggish the following day. Well, the following day I did feel weak and sluggish, and also started with a headcold - which can be a sure sign of a herx (lots of sneezing and mucus). But the bladder thing started yesterday (Friday). Could it be part of a herx? Maybe. Could it be bc I stopped the zithro? possibly, or could it be related to stopping the probiotics - what traveler said makes sense, probiotics would not affect the bladder as much. I originally thought it may be a yeast infection, but now that more hrs have passed, it sure feels just like it did when I initially ended up with cystitis at the beginning of my lyme infection. I am hoping Traveler is right, that this is the last symptom to leave (reverse symptomatology), but I can't be sure. (thanks again traveler for your input!!) The only interesting note I have in my mind is that the Dr who performed the magnet therapy asked me if I had issues going to the bathroom at night. I told him that I didn't but that I did have cystitis for 5 weeks, and had daytime urinary frequency. He then proceeded to say that the Ph of the body has a huge impact on the uterers (if I remember correctly).

Lymepickle - thanks, and yes, this is the only symptom that has returned. Really? I honestly was attributing the cystitis to bartonella! And If I would say anything, I wouldn't say the bacteria creeped back, if it is indeed here, it never left! But I am still not convinced of that just yet - keeping my hopes up! I firmly believe the strength of the mind has control over physical healing. The more positive you are - the faster you will recover.

It is hard for me to believe that you are able to maintain alkalinity. Cellular apoptosis is an acidic event and so is phagocytosis. Borrelia excretes quinolinic acid as a metabolic byproduct and any alkalinic state would be temporary. It's similar to Vitamin K conversion in that it must be a daily event. The decrease of daily probiotics would allow other pathogens to thrive in the GI tract which could divert immune resources from the bladder. Just some thoughts

It's quite common for us to herx when starting to treat Candida, so I would assume the herbs are working and stay on them as well.

I'm so glad you found out what was happening! Drinking Cranberry juice will help clear that UTI as well - just be sure it's not loaded with sugar.

Actually, lyme symptoms can be very, very similar to yeast issues too- including numbness though it is less common. And cranberry concentrate is amazing. I have been drinking it almost every morning. I hope you start feeling better soon!

LOL! We should all get together somewhere and open up a health clinic with all of our knowledge!! We can make Beth get her license to practice medicine so that we could be legal and we can be her 'associates'!! I've always wanted to be an 'associate'!!

See? We can make it work, although we do have to find a way to get Beth to get her license!! LOL! And of course we will need plenty of others to help with all the other things that will need to be taken care of too!!! AND.... I could be the office clown!!!

Glad to hear you're feeling good Chapelle. The LLMD I was seeing last year tested me for Candida and I was negative. It's basically a blood test that tests for antibodies against two types of Candida. Both were below the threshold. I'm not sure how accurate this test is but I don't believe I have an overgrowth so for me I think it was accurate. Does your tongue have a white coating? That's one way to know you have an overgrowth.
