Okay so I have been testing positive for streptococcal for the past 4 months. But I thought strep was different than staphylococcus...?

And yeah it is possible I got lyme before as I am not sure when I got it, and my symptoms began oct. 2013 and I was still breastfeeding.... He has been developing totally normal - mentally/physically - the only "weird" thing he's had up until now is a chronic mucous filled cough, and frequent colds. I have already sent I his western blot to igenex and awaiting those results. But you know how it goes with those results... Could be negative and not really be negative. I'm so worried.

Okay, I will read those threads - thanks Trav. Ugh, I hope he doesn't have this..... :,(

Let me know if I can be of further help. We can take this to emails any time you feel the need - but hopefully this won't continue!

I think that would be a good idea. Or if your hands are full, I can contact her and ask her to email you - but I don't know your email.....so maybe that wasn't such a good idea? Whatever you feel will be best for you - just let me know!

Okay, I opened mouth and inserted foot. I don't have her email listed!!!

I'm going to start a new thread with her name on it to get her attention. I know she is still around, as she posted just a few days ago.

Oh, and you can find her on that Latitudes site as Rowingmom as well. I would encourage you to go there and at least do some reading. Those are the real experts with PANDAS/Lyme in children! Here is that link again so you don't have to go searching:

So sorry about your child, I hate hearing about kids getting sick. MRSA is pretty nasty and usually you pick it up in hospitals. We're any of you at a hospital recently? If you are at all desperate and antibiotics aren't quite working, the website natural news, has some interesting home remedy type things to try. I think you can put mrsa into the search bar and see if anything comes up. With mrsa you really have to watch out for sepsis as well. I hope he gets better fast!!

You can also get it in the community...as a certain percentage of people carry it...even though they're not infected.
In fact when my dad was in the hospital having hip surgery, they swabbed him and he had the bacteria...but no infection.
He was isolated because he was on a surgical floor, and the patients would be at high risk for infections.

It looks like you caught it early, though...whatever it is...and he should be just fine.

Hey everyone! Thanks again for all the comments, thoughts, and prayers. We are home now - actually he was discharged a couple days ago... I've been busy with him and haven't been on here since, but I wanted to update you on how he's doing... He's great! :) Hasn't had a fever, the spot on his bottom looks almost back to normal - I can barely see it now - I still feel the hard lump underneath, but he's still on the abx and responding very well. He's happy as ever.
