There is a genetic test you can have done...something like 90% of people with ankylosing spondilytis have it.
Have you had an MRI of your spine?
Have you been diagnosed with lyme disease yet?
If so, you could just have pain and stiffness from lyme itself.
I have had a lot of back/spine issues. My back, including lower back is stiff and sore. But, I'm chalking it all up to lyme...since it never happened until about
a year ago.
Also, I had a few hours yesterday with almost no pain and stiffness in my body...including my back.
It's hard not to worry, but I would get an mri of your entire spine...and it should show if there is arthritis.
