Hi all, i just got back from my apt with one of the well known llmd's and have mixed feelings. I have been out of work now 3 months (treatment fort 1 1/2 years) and spoke to my boss afterwards who seemed kind of annoyed that i didn't have good news. The new doc believes the old doc was focusing too much on the babesia and didn't try different categories of antibiotics. He said some people end up responding only to one of the categories over the others. Last 3 months: malarone, bactrim, diflucan, artemenisin and he is switching me to mepron, ceftin, and zithromax (never been on any of these before). He says if i don't show much improvement in 1 month he wants to try a month or two of iv antibiotics. While i want to scream i am trying to stay positive. This forum is giving me great support and i am grateful for everyone out there on this same journey together. There will be a light at the end of the tunnel and the experience will make us better more compassionate people. Wishing everyone success and happiness.
