my LLMD thinks that some of my fatigue could be from EBV aggravated by the Lyme and Co.

i'm on prescription antivirals and other supplements to treat it. it's day three and i'm not noticing any difference? has anyone else been on prescription antivirals for EBV? did it work? and if so, did it work right away or take some time?

I'm not entirely convinced that viruses are playing a big role here. I've experimented quite a bit with naturals and a few abx. My herx reactions to Doxy and monolaurin are pretty similar with flu-like malaise and back muscle pain. Doxy is not known to be antiviral while monolaurin is both anti-viral and anti-bacterial. Monolaurin also dramatically increases my neuro symptoms like tingling/burning and internal tremors. These are clearly not from EBV or viruses. Yes fatigue herxes from monolaurin like barely being able to wake up could be due to EBV die-off but I'm not convinced. I've had mono and the symptoms were very different (extreme achiness and early night fatigue). Of course we're all different but that's just my experience.

I know that when I started my Lyme herbs, my herpes really reactivated. I had a huge cold sore develop in less than a week. Of course I was also herxing.

I took high doses of L-lysine though and the cold sore was mostly healed in just 3 days.

I think it's more of an individual thing - we have to figure out what all we are dealing with, and it's going to be different for many of us.

I have some Valcyte I picked up today prescribed by my NON LLMD Dr. Lerner for HHV6. He claims I have reactivated Mono from it, although my EBV is within range. He claimed that I could be on it up to a year for orals, or less with IV. He didn't say how long it would take to possibly feel better IF I only had HHV6/Mono and not Lyme as well (he doesn't think I have lyme).

His nurse did say its possible to feel better in a few weeks, but then the "angry virus" would probably get worse after that. I to am curious on how long it will take, but I guess everyone is different.
