It's my understanding that we'll feel worse before we feel better.
Being treated for Lyme reminds me very much of what I went through when I first started treatment for hypothyroidism. My symptoms became MUCH worse and I developed MANY more than I had when I first started. The first 6 months were hell.
I've read enough posts on here to know that some people didn't start to experience improvements for at least 3 months. Yes, some people had a few improvements before that but we all know everyone is different.
I would imagine that, the longer a person remained untreated for his/her infection, the longer it will take to experience improvements.
Heck, I started treatment the day after I pulled a tick out of my abdomen. Yes, I wasn't treated long enough from the get-go but, I've been taking antibiotics steadily for over 5 wks. now.
I had 4 mild symptoms when I met my LLMD. And, yes, he observed Bells Palsy that was so mild neither I nor my family noticed it.
I've dealt with waaaayyy more symptoms than I did when I first started treatment. In fact, I've experienced a total of 26 different symptoms since being treated by the LLMD. Thankfully, I didn't have all the symptoms at the same time.
I've yet to have a day of complete freedom from symptoms. I'm dealing with at least 4-5 symptoms/day and those symptoms can change throughout the day. The intensity has varied as well. I've had some really bad days and I've learned to be thankful when I have a day with fewer symptoms of lesser intensity.
Healing is clearly going to take awhile. I think we need to buckle down, do our best to maintain a healthy diet, exercise and detox, detox, detox.
We'll get there.
