Sudden onset or buildup of symptoms for Lyme

Hi everyone....my symptoms began suddenly in July. Over the course of one week I developed blurred vision in left eye, constant internal tremors (nothing external), roaring noise in my head and roaming numbness/tingling in all extremities. I've seen a neurologist and rheumatologist. Three Elisa tests were negative and Western Blot positive only for band 41. I of course was given every test imaginable for MS and various autoimmune disorders. Neither of the docs feel it is Lyme and say it is either MS or an autoimmune that has not "declared" itself yet. I suggested testing w/Igenex and was told the lab is being investigated and can't be relied on. Frustrating!!!!

I am seeing a LLMD and was put on Byron White drops and Doxy. Waiting for Igenex results. Has anyone experienced this sudden onset of symptoms and been diagnosed positively with Lyme? Does anyone know percentage of tests that come back positive from Igenex?

Well done for your persistence in getting treatment. Your positive result for band 41 is a very good hint that you have Lyme disease; unless you have syphilis or terrible gum disease.

Igenex was investigated some years ago (like thirteen), and it was a matter of documentation, not the test itself. So those guys are a little out of date.

In some cases people notice a sudden onset of symptoms after a shock or physical stress. Sometimes the symptoms leading up are comparatively minor and the patient just puts it down to the usual wear and tear of growing older.
