Sx resurfacing into 5th week of Rocephin

Strangely, I was feeling better right after starting IV Rocephin,
then this past week I started getting sx back from early, horrific acute lyme (just not nearly as severe). Especially head pain, dizziness, nausea, muscle pain, hearing sensitivities, word mix-ups.

Is it the IV Rocephin reaching deeply ?

Any thoughts as to why these sx are resurfacing, or why I am feeling a return of early sx?

When I was on Rocephin about 1 year ago, my symptoms got worse while I was on it. I didn't start to feel better until about the last two or three days of treatment. I didn't think that it worked at all, but it did, as I was herxing my worst at week three. If I knew how good it actually worked I would have paid for an extra few weeks out of pocket - I only get the standard insurance 28 days.

2g of Rocephin 1 x daily.

So sorry—that does not sound like fun.

You might ask your LLMD if you can back off to 1g 5x per wk. That is the dose I am on and I have felt nothing, quite frankly (I am just starting out, too). Then maybe after a week or two you can increase up to the 2 g slowly.

Also, I would make sure your probiotic is in place (many yeast overgrowth/fungal issues are similar to lyme sx) as well as a very strong detox program—including support for liver and pancreas, a binder to get the toxins removed, dry brushing, soaks and whatever else you can do to get the stuff you're killing removed from your organs, blood, skin and the rest of your body. It's a tall order but might help.

I have been using this as an opportunity to increase
Cat's claw & Japanese Knotweed as well.

I am thinking that if the cat's or japknot release some bacteria, the Rocephin is there to help.
In three more weeks I will not have the luxury of Rocephin to back my herbals up.

Update: brought japknot & Cat's back to original doses and feeling so much better :)

So you only have 3 more weeks covered by insurance? In many instances, a longer treatment is required. Have you tried to fight that? Another poster on the forum suggested you log your daily symptom changes along with your medication regimen to help convince your insurance company you need to prolong your treatment.

My only other suggestion is to increase your detox as you might be doing a good job of tackling the infection but if you can't get what your killing out of your body, you will remain sick.
