Bright yellow urine on medication

Any ideas if this can be normal hours after a first dose of medicine?

Happened after first dose of alinia here a few hours later. Almost green tinge to it. Anyone ever get that? Can it be body adjusting to med?

I'm just going through something like that this week. My nutritionist put me on some different vitamins and supplements this week. And I noticed how yellow it came out. I've been paying attention since I've been sick and thought it was weird. I want to try to figure out which pill is causing it but that's hard. I'm also wondering if that means are body is absorbing properly or not.

My pee turns different colors throughout the day—depending on the supplements I'm taking. It's a little strange but confirmation that the stuff is working through the body.

The holy grail is clear pee—that is indication that you are drinking adequate volumes of water but I doubt any of us here can achieve that until we are well and off all of the stuff we're taking.

This is a very very common side effect of many vitamins, supplements, and antibiotics. Just make sure you are feeling okay and that your dr is regularly checking kidney/liver functions.

Vitamin B's, and rifampin I know are notorious for causing colored urine but there are many more. Often when I started a new supplement I would notice a difference for a few days and then it would go back to normal. Or normal 'abnormal' :)

Thanks. This stuff turns my urine kind of green tinted yellow. From googling it, it sounds like a common thing. Doctor ordered cbc and a urine test so that is something, may see about a liver test too.

Are you taking B vitamins? I know when I first started taking B vitamins in a supplement, my pee turned bright, practically fluorescent, yellow! Bit alarming until I read somewhere that it is caused by the B vitamin supplement and is a very common side effect of that.

My doctor just started me on a vitamin B spray. Since I'm taking so many pills, any relief from more is welcomed. My initial dose was 1000 mg but during my last visit she told me to up it 2000 mg. So if it's a bright florescent yellow, does that mean out body is absorbing it or not?

Just Alinia now. The pills have yellow coating on them - online it looks like people report yellow/green urine from this.

Cheetahjade . . . I think that the supplements contain much more than you actually need, just to make sure you get enough. From what I understand, B vitamins are water soluble, which means the body can't store them, so what it doesn't need/use, it just excretes harmlessly through the urine. I think it's the riboflavin (B2) that makes your wee bright yellow!

Vitamin C also turns urine yellow.

I also took Alinia and it turned my pee kind of greenish. Once I stopped it went away.
