Does anyone have history in the monmouth county shore area with Dr. Z and/or Dr. O?

We currently see Dr. S, but I would like a second opinion and there are patients who seem to prefer one over the other ... not sure which one to make the appt. with.

5 months on doxy and Andrew is still having issues and is on home instruction. Got another hole in the dining room wall this morning... oh boy....

I currently see dr s in howell. I don't know either of the dr's you asked about but wouldn't mind knowing about another llmd in the area. I am familiar with dr e in jackson but I've heard a lot of strange things about her.

I'm sorry Lovemychildren. I had hoped he'd be settling down after being on the meds a while. So were you! I hope you get some some helpful replies.

Lovemychildren, my daughter had a lot of Lyme Rage when she first started treatment. It didn't help that she's only 13 so has PMS and regular teenage angst adding to it. I didn't really see an improvement with her until she did the IV antibiotics. She's on home instruction as well and seems to have much better control of her rage now. I don't want to say it's nonexistent, but it is far and few between now. We currently see a Dr. in NYC but he referred me to Dr. E in Jackson just to see what she had to say. First appt is tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it as all the paperwork to fill out prior was unbelievable and they charge for everything!

Daxwell, As you see above, I have my first appt with Dr. E tomorrow. Will probably be the only one as I love my LLMD but he's not as familiar with natural/holistic remedies and wanted me to try her out. Heard a few things I wasn't happy about but since I don't want to lose my $200 deposit I have to go.

Daxwell and Dtav, yes, I know one person who swears by Dr. E (has struggled with lyme 22 years, mold, co infections, etc.), but I hear the wait is like 3 hours and she is as far as Dr. S, so I went with him and do like him very very much.

I'm just concerned he may retire sometime as he is around 67 now. I can email you the names if you would like of the other doctors highly recommended. They are 40's and 50's, experienced, but both went through a move this summer, so they are just getting "up and running" now.

Dtav, thank you. I thought his rage was over, but we have serious issues with computer addiction - not sure if it helped intrusive thoughts stuff, and he's still having episodes - less body movement, almost none, but stress seems to trigger things like you are saying. That is why I think being home is good for now even though he is not at all happy. Only problem, more computer... only lifeline to the world... Will pray for you and your daughter - raging is a nightmare. I know another local mom went through it with her daughter for a long time. Shreds the family and marriage...

Garden Peace, thank you, you know I'll be in touch. Been a little busy helping a couple of new local people who need lyme drs. this seems to be taking on a life of it's own - I see what happens now with you and Traveler! :)

Lovemychildren, I have the same concerns with our doctor as he is 69. I think that's why he is sending me to Dr E so that I have a back up when he retires. Unfortunately Dr. E does not treat underage so she will not see my daughter. Need to find an LLMD that will treat a 13 year old in case Dr does retire. I'm hoping the wait at Dr. E is not that long as they made such a fuss about being there 15-20 minutes before the appt so you are ready when the doctor is ready. Oh well, guess we will see.

My daughter's illness has caused a big strain on the marriage as my husband is not very sympathetic or understanding. No matter how much I try to educate him, he doesn't understand or doesn't want to. Luckily my son has been very understanding of the situation and that makes it a lot easier. My daughter is lucky as she really loves her home instruction teachers, her friends come and visit, and the school allows her to go in for lunch several times a month so she can stay connected with the school and her friends. It really helps so much especially with her mental and emotional health. She also is big on her computer and tv as reading is very hard for her especially with all the reading she has for school. I did see that one of the Lyme moms wrote a book about her daughter's Lyme Rage. Can't wait until it's available. Would love to read it and get another point of view. Maybe then my husband will accept that it's a real thing.

Thanks Dtav. I can't get to your email - my husband set up all new stuff on my computer and I'm not sure what to "configure". My email is up there if you want to shoot me a note, I can give you names and numbers of the other 3 doctors in this area.

Hope your visit went well today.

I have four children and though they are all scouts, volunteer and are good people, no one seems to know what to do for him or with him or have much patience for any of this. My husband is the worst. I'm guessing he tries, but since he can't fix it, he just makes things worse.

Wow, a book - now that would be an interesting read.... until you live it, no one really gets it... it's unbelievable, sometimes I can't even believe it. I thought lyme was joint pain and fatigue.... right now I'd give anything for him to have that instead... but then that's not great either....

Lovemychildren Mom, are we talking about the same Dr. S in Howell? I don't think he is anywhere near 69 years old? Is this the one right next to the Wawa?

Yes, he is like 67, maybe has a toupe? Not sure I spelled that right. Yes, across from Wawa, got gas there last trip. We will be there a week from Mon.

I'm just trying to decide since the ladies got in order whether to get a second opinion. Dr. Z will be in Shrewsbury until the end of Nov. and then will move in the bldg. with Dr. E in Jackson forever. Not as partner, separate practice. But, Dr. S has gotten people well for over 35 years..... Have been in contact with a few people the past few days to figure out what to do.
Second opinion,, then who do I believe if it's different? Wish Andrew was on board more with me and more... not raging and hormonal and psycho lyme (don't get me wrong, I LOVE all my four children, but this has shredded our family and marriage... mental brain stuff is more than anyone can handle...)

Wow. I figured it was a toupe, but I never guessed 67. I found a site that says he graduated med school in 1978, so he could be that old. I would have guessed upper 50's. That doesn't leave many choices in the area. Can you please send me an email with information on the other doctors you mentioned. I am currently seeing a Dr. in NYC who is a family friend and finally believes me while keeping Dr. S on hold. This Dr. was willing to put me back on Rocephin. I will be starting a week from today. He is traveling now and doesn't wan't me to start while he is away for fear of infection.

I like Dr. S., but I do find him strange. You really need to be proactive get anything out of him. Can I ask what medicines your son has been on? Just wondering if he treats all the same.
