Lymes

This my first post....
I have a 14 year old daughter that is in treatment for lymes since January of this year. She off course missed diagnosed for 4-5 years prior to seeing a lymes doctor in CT. My daughter continues to struggle with multiple symptoms; pain, dizziness, blurred vision and unable to waLk due to one leg and foot not supporting her. The ankle/foot has pain and is numb at the same time...she has had ankle pain for 4-5 years and we saw many doctors that could never diagnose her except it must be a "sprain"! It's very scary for all of us but especially for her! She has missed school and will attempt to go to school on crutches. She has a picc line and is on rocephin, she's also taking doxy and azythromycin by mouth. Since January she has been on different combinations of antibiotics but since late September she had a picc line place to add IV rocephin.
Anyone have suggestions? Or recommendations?

As Margaret has suggested, it would be good for you to read through the thread that sits at the top of the forum titled, "New to Lyme? Start here!" as it's packed with important information, detoxing suggestions, symptoms lists and more.

It sounds like your daughter has been hit hard with Neuro Lyme - although I'm no doctor. You said your daughter is seeing a Lyme doctor, is it an Infectious Disease Doctor or is it a doctor that has had ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society) training? Even those doc's that have been through ILADS training aren't all created equal. It might be time for a change in doctors. We can help with that if that is the case.

Unfortunately, I don't know enough about the abx that are used to treat these infections (I used herbs to heal), but other members will be along shortly to chime in on the combinations and the dosages that your daughter should be on.

But, there is much more to healing from such a complex infection than just the killing of the bacteria, she needs to be supporting all aspects of healing, from other possible conditions (adrenal, intestinal, thyroid or others), detoxing, & building up her immune system. Do you know if all those things are being addressed as well?
