Hey Justin, and welcome again!
Yes, I have the same issues with caffeine. I was a tea-drinker till my late 20s: I used it to try to stay warm (lots of us are always freezing due to low blood pressure) and to fend off the extreme exhaustion. I drank it spaced out throughout my teaching day and also drank lots of water. I would have to drink at least a few cups of black tea before starting to feel just a bit funny & lightheaded.
In my early 30s I switched to an even busier higher-stress career where everyone in my office drank black coffee. I would try to cut it with lots of hot milk but same thing everytime: raging headache, knot in stomach, jitters, sometimes becoming nauseous or about to faint. Would have to lie down. Switched to decaf, never have the problem unless I drink many cups of it (still has traces of caffeine).
I'm now addicted and drink 2 cups of decaf every morning. No problems unless I also drink caffeinated tea, then it's right back to the wooziness. I'm with you, I think it's the caffeine, not coffee itself.
