Hi have not posted much lately. Not feeling very good. Las Vegas is not where you want to be with Lyme disease. No help here.

No Doctors, No money ,Can't afford to travel, just about ready to give up.

Everyone here is really trying to help, but I just can't take this. I don't believe I'm going to make it . I'm Tired . 25 years is a long time to be sick and in pain constantly. You all seem so strong. I don't think I have anymore fight left. Staph infection in nasal cavity last straw. Medication they gave me doesn't seem to be helping much, pain very bad. Husband still doesn't get it . Can't argue with him anymore ,one minute he says he will let me try herbal next he wants to stay with ID doctor. Can't afford any Doctor not completely covered by Insurance and From what I read a lot has to be paid out of pocket and we just can't do it. Don't even think I can do herbal all on my own with out a doctor to help. This just seems hopeless to me.

Hi Ginger, please don't give up! Your husband needs to be educated on Lyme. The more he knows, the better off you will be. It doesn't cost anything to learn. As for doing the herbals on your known. This community has a wealth of experience and knowledge. We are here to help with any knowledge we can.

OMG! Do not give in the this beast! Do not let it beat you, you are stronger than it! Take one day at a time.
I understand how you feel, but somehow but I make it through each day.
I focus on a healthy future.
Mom of 2 makes a great point, educate.
I find myself sending or showing friends and family information that I dig up on Lyme disease.
I feel if they see and hear it from another source, it becomes more tangible.
And maybe they can begin to understand what you are going through.

Does anyone have any information on a doc closer to Las Vegas for Ginger to at least check out?

Ginger, you know how I feel - you simply cannot give up. Keep fighting this situation until it changes. Is there any family or friends that you can go stay with somewhere to get some treatment?

I am reaching out now to a good family friend in Reno. She is an ND and knows lots of people in the alternative and traditional medicines fields. She lived in Las Vegas for a long time so should be able to send me some names. I will get back on here as soon as I hear back from her.

Try to keep on, Ginger! We are all rallying for you. Praying for you here in NYC! Will be in touch soon.

Thank you Maui!!! I'm looking online, and of course, many "claim" to treat these infections, but don't know the first thing. I'll be making waaay too many phone calls to try to narrow this down on my own!! I hope that your family friend can help!!

So hang in there Ginger!! Don't leave, we are trying to find you the some help!!

Ginger, I'm sorry you feel so defeated. Please lean on us for support and keep some hope. Our group leader has been sick most of his 50 some years and he is getting better.

Ginger, do not give up whatever you do. I come back on this forum to help others. There are people who have healed from Lyme.

Herbal remedies such as Samento's cats claw, sasparilla, wilg are affordable. There is no overnight success. It takes time. This board provided me so much valuable information and support.

I am self treating while I wait seven months to get into an LLMD nearby. I have had some luck with Teasel, and others have with Samento, Japanese Knotwood or Eleuthero. None of these individually would be very expensive to try. I got my teasel on Amazon for about ten bucks. I will tell u colloidal silver knocked out some of my other than Lyme infections.

The infection in my nose and ears just isn't getting better. I'm on an antibiotic call a 5 day z pack of Azithromycin and it does not seem to be helping and my doctor said it is a very strong medicine. it is really scaring me . Nothing seems to touch the sores in my nose, They won't heal. I'm afraid I'm going to end up in the hospital or worse. I guess I'm freaking out .I'll try not to give up but I'm so tired. My mind just keeps telling me I'm not going to make it, and can't seem to stop it. I even dream about being sick and wake up shaking. I wish I could control it. My family can't take it anymore and neither can I. I don't want to upset them so much but don't have control of these episodes. I cry a lot. can't control that either. I just don't seem to have control of anything anymore. This is just not me. Feel like I'm losing my mind.

Ginger, I am totally with you, my symptoms are keeing me pretty much in bed. I just had anfusion three months ago, my prescription pain meds don't even touch the Lyme pain. House is dirty, laundry piled up and hubby works all the time. So I really do not want to ask him to do vacuuming, It truly does seem hopeless at times. I just go day by day hoping for that little break of sun. Thanksgiving will go on without me. so you are not alone.

Ginger, my friend just called me back with the names of 2 doctors in Las Vegas. I am emailing you and Traveler with their info now.

She thinks they charge out-of-pocket :-( but said it's worth a phone call to double-check, as she's not sure. She also thinks they might do sliding-scale so try what you can to see either if you don't already have other recs.

They are both MDs so your husband might be more open to them. (Secretly, they are also into natural medicine and homeopathy but you don't need to mention that :) They can likely suggest some herbs for your nose issues.

When we email, since your email has a man's name on it, I never know how to respond, bc I'm not sure if your husband will see it. So this might be a better place for me to ask: Is that your hubby's email? Otherwise, I wouldn't have said anything.

If so, I highly recommend that you create your own email account, and then we can give you better info. Maybe you can use Yahoo or Hotmail.

It sounds to me like hubby's being pretty unsupportive. Are you completely dependent on his income?

Do you have friends and family? Is there somewhere else you can stay?

Is hubby just unsupportive or other things?

You can't give up. There are always options. I would try to do as many things to heal yourself as you can, but without telling hubby.

Ginger- please, please don't give up. Reading your post makes me so sad... Because I can feel your pain....your anguish. You are so strong to be fighting this for 25 years... My hat goes off to you! A year ago I felt hopeless... and also felt like I was losing my mind... But I'm still here and tho still in a lot of pain, my anxiety, sadness, mental health is better.
I admire you for your fight -please don't give up. Is there anyone you know that you can confide in - that could help you? Any family members?

Does anyone know of a support group nearby Ginger?

Ginger...the only thing in this situation that you don't have a choice about and that is controlling you....is the Lyme!

Everything else is in your control...its your body...your life....you have to live and feel this way every day for the rest of your life unless you fight for you....that is what is in your control!!!

Don't give up on your well being and your happiness....not one person that doesn't believe in your illness can make you happier than you believing in yourself and finding yourself the treatment that's right for you...you will feel so accomplished when you do 😊

Hi ,

please don't think so bad about my husband . He really is trying but we really can't affords the treatments. He would pay if he had money. He helps as much as he can. he works many hours and takes care of me when he is home. I don't even blame him for not believing me after so many doctors said there was nothing wrong with me.( 22 doctors and 6 hospital visits).He never stopped taking me to doctors. He believes me now and has been doing everything he can to help but we are almost loosing the house and are behind on bills .He feels bad he can't do more and the stress is getting to him. I'm actually worried about his health at this point. We have no friends or family to help. The sicker I get the more frustrated he gets. He checked the doctors but they do not take insurance and the first visit is even to much for us to afford.(450 dollars).I can't even think how bad my crying fits and anxiety attacks and sever depression are effecting my family .It can't be easy for them to watch me fall apart and they can't help. We are all scared.

Ginger, your post makes me so sad and so angry too. Why do we all have to fight so hard when we are so sick? And it is so hard for partners and families to cope with seeing their loved one fall apart . . . my husband is a constant support to me, but the strain of having to always try & remain positive for me and keep my spirits up and comfort me through my tears and basically hold the family together - as well as supporting me and all my treatment financially - MUST be an incredible strain, and yes, I too worry about the effect that all this is having on him. I hate this disease!! But you HAVE to keep fighting . . . I am in the UK (which has practically NO LLMDs, so I completely understand how you feel there!), but I know that others here will be able to help you and find you the help you need in the US - hopefully one of the docs Maui has found for you will be able to help you, and convince your husband too, because you really need him to be 100% behind you. But I just wanted to add my support & send you hugs across the ocean :-). Good luck in starting a new regime of treatment and I really hope things start to improve for you very soon xx And the same to you LilLym - I'm so sorry you feel so tired and misunderstood but hope the support on this great forum will give you a boost. Ginger, I'm soooo sorry. The stress you're experiencing is clear and I'm sure you are tired of 'hanging in there'. Still, please don't give up yet! Thank you for helping us understand better the way your husband is supporting you--we won't be so worried that he is just another person who isn't helping you get better. It sounds like the exact opposite is true. Prayers & hugs for him too!

I am going to reach out to the family friend once more who gave me those doctors' names. She said she is very close friends with them. If it is ok with you I am going to copy and paste your notes into an email to her and see if she can't use your story to convince one of them to see you for free or a discount.

My last thought here is whether you can get to LA for treatment? Maybe you can find an LLMD in LA or San Diego that takes insurance, and then make the 3-4 hour drive with your husband? There seem to be so many more doctors available to people on our forum if they live in California. Maybe even share a ride with someone on Craigslist if you need to save the money? I know this idea sounds weird, but people go back and forth between Vegas and LA and San Francisco constantly--I did all the time when I lived in Cali and I'm not a weirdo :-) I would gladly share a ride with you if I could. Without family or friends there it is really tough for you guys. I can pray for you from here and really hope you get some help and additional support in getting better!

Ginger, I'm glad to hear your husband is behind you all the way. I hope Maui's attempts will pan out. I've had a couple of naturopaths who put people first by reducing costs to help when they didn't have funding.

Thank you for all your help it is greatly appreciated.
Travel is to far, husband works 12 hours a day 6 days a week. and I don't drive.
If the doctor would see me for free or cheep Maybe that would work. But I think the medication would still have to be paid for out of pocket and think that probably would still be to much. but WE could at least talk to them and see If we could work something out. I will at least try. just The Igenex test was more than we could afford.

Everyone here is so great I don't know how to thank you all for your help.

Ginger - have you thought about Go FundMe? I think thats what its called.
You could try and raise money that way.

The members on this forum maybe able to help a bit.
I hope Im not out of line suggesting this and I know most of us are struggling with the costs of our own treatment... but your situation seems so dire that maybe some of the more fortunate people may be able to help.

I personally dont have extra money but even I could pitch in $10 . On its own its not much but if there were 20 people pitching in it could help pay for a few rounds of antibiotics.

If you have a support group nearby... Maybe a few members could also pitch in.

I know its hard to do something like that, but it might be worth a try.

Maybe its not allowed to be discussed on here because there are so many other people in need that they may not want the discussions to go that way.

I apologize if i'm in violation of forum rules...I just feel so bad for Ginger

I don't know if they tested for marcons ,The test was for staph and MARSA and came back negative. She gave me a Z pack of azithromycin, which is 500 mg first day than 250mg the next 4days . It seemed to help while I was taking it but came back as soon as I stopped , and now I have another round to take. I start tomorrow. Next dr. appointment Is dec.9 said to call if anything got worse. Still on doxy 100mg 2x a day.

I agree with Mr Mike. Treating Lyme can be like peeling the layers of an onion- one layer for you is this infection that is affecting your nose. Those with mold issues generally must heal from them before they can make much progress with treating Lyme and those co-infections.

The 200 mgs of Doxy a day will at least keep the Lyme bacteria from replicating unchecked while you are treating these other things and is not a high enough dosage to create much of a herx for most people. It really sounds like it may be a good idea to stick with this doc for a bit if it's working out for you financially.
