I don't watch much TV but happened to catch an episode of Masterchef - Junior Edition.

Oh My. I've never seen it before. But these kids are simply awesome. They're little geniuses and the show's host and host chefs are encouraging and full of constructive criticism—not the sensational haranguing that you see on reality competition shows that I stopped watching years ago.

Anyway, one of the kids was struggling with a challenge and said he was going to try to overwhelm the flood of pessimism he was experiencing with optimism. I just wanted to kiss his little face.

that's my new mantra for the week.

I was thinking the exact same thing as I opened up the website a moment ago, and this was the first post!!!!!

Ha—I know… did someone mention food?? Most of the time these days with my nausea I can't watch food shows—but I used to love them. But these kids were awesome. Love them to death—might try to watctch that show again.

As part of the show they had the kids draw a picture of what their restaurant would look like (because, of course, every self-respecting kid genius chef wants to have her own restaurant) and Chef Ramsey of course asked them to share it with him. Thoroughly entertaining.
