Its happening more often....whether I go downstairs or walk a shorts distance maybe 10 feet....my body gets so weak and fatigued...I can't take another step...its as tho my legs paralyze...I can't take another step! I can't catch my breath...you'd swear I just ran a marathon...my lungs hurt as tho its 40 below in the house!! What is going on...I have to talk to myself in my head to convince myself...ok...breath....one step at a time....get to your bed....go lay down.
...you can get there...This scares the bageezum out of me...I get to my bed and I'm groaning like I've been beaten!

Doc calls me and trying to explain this and toddler brain kicks it...all my words are mashing each other and I can't explain this to save my life.. I sound like an idiot...isn't that always the way...? But then again...They want you to explain everything to them...as if they know know nothing....now tell me what you mean when you say you're having air hunger.......Im thinking...don't make me explain....you know what I mean....your the doc...I feel so crappy right now ...please dont make me try and find the words :(

Anywho .....so...hes wondering....cardiac? Lyme related? Allergic reaction to meds? Wants me to possibly stop treatment for a smidge......has anyone ever stopped their meds if so....what to expect???? Any input is welcome...please and thank you 💕

It sounds like Babesia to me. The air hunger and extreme fatigue with mild exertion. Babesia is a blood parasite it changes the shape of the red blood cells, leading to anemia and related problems. Your heart, muscles, and brain are not getting the oxygen they need, hence the "air hunger."

The tests often don't show it because the Lyme disease suppresses the immune system, so you don't produce the antibodies the test detects.

Many LLMD's will treat for Babesia without a positive test, relying on the clinical symptoms instead.

I'm being treated for babesia achievinggrace by my LLMD..but I've only been doing this for about 6 months...im definitely covered in bruises...I know that's a sign of anemia as well...I guess I'm just scared and a newbie really at all of this and...not knowing what to expect...

Happy Jo... I've had my heart checked within the past few years of wondering what's been going on with me in general because I've had nasty palpitations ECT....everythings been fine....but not since all this weakness and short of breath.

What exactly is pulsing med method?

So glad you are getting treated for this. Babesia is a hard thing to get rid of, but I'm sure you will. As time goes by, these difficult symptoms will pass.

There are several types of Babesia, some of them respond better to different medications. I had to add Byron White A-BAB before I made my most recent progress. It is important to tell your LLMD you are having these symptoms so he can find the right medications.

Pulsing medications is a technique where you take the medication for a set time and then stop. It works by allowing the "bug" to think it is safe to come out and then smacking it down when you start up the medications again. Not all doctors use this method.

Gotcha! I have babesia duncani....its evil! This is day one off meds...just nervous what to expect ...how to feel....
