Let's all Welcome "Bowden"

Bowden mistakenly posted their first post in the "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread, so I've moved it here so that they can get a proper welcome and they can get some thoughts on their situation.

I was diagnosed in May and started abx tx in Aug. Zithro 250mg daily and Doxy 100mg bid. Now December and still only tolerating consistently Zithro 125mg qod. Haven't even started Doxy yet. Also have new co-infection of EBV and olive leaf extract treatment levels me. Have long term seizure condition from traumatic brain injury when I was a teenager with 4 weeks in a coma. No apparent seizure activity. Working with ILADS doc. He states I have had this at least 10 years and flu shot triggered present symptoms. Extreme fatigue, joint pain, headaches, blurred vision, brain fog, +ANA. I was working as a hospice nurse up until last year, now can barely take care of myself. Frustrated over poor response to abx and having ANA redone along with testosterone and thyroid levels. Tired,frustrated, and a little scared. Any thoughts.

Was the flu shot needed for work?!? The damage was done....but did u get anything out of workers comp? For those out there, there r no ingredients on vaccines. Im so sorry, its terrible that it made thngs worse. I wish i had answers for u. Regarding taking abx, as u know, there is a risk of fungal overgrowth w/ abx...my doc said that u cannot fully get rid of lyme w/ fungul infections. Do u herx? If not, the spirochete changes forms...so u may need multiple abx at a time. When i started out, taking abx worked for only a week, then i started to platoue. Pulsing antibiotics, increasing the doses and adding more meds weekly kept the herxes coming, for me
I learned a lot so far having lyme...it made me change from wanting to b an NP to a ND. Hope u start to feel better quickly
