So I just had my phone consult. It went pretty much as I expected it to.
The dr said all the herbs in the tea sound fine and safe and are used by many, and that it is fine to do.
He said however that he thinks I should go back on the full antibiotics protocol for one month, then see how I feel then and then maybe a 1/2 dose of the antibiotics for a month, and then switch over to the tea.
The protocol I was on is 100mg doxy 2X a day, 2 malarone a day and 300 mg rifampin a day.
I am sort of okay with this- because the idea is to knock back the bacteria load again, and then transition to the tea.
He said I could use the tea also if I want- at my discretion as to how much.
So now I just have to decide what I want to do.
When I go back on the full dose of antibiotics these days I get this pretty intense nerve tingling thing on the whole left side of my body. It happens as soon as I am on the antibiotics, and even a few days off of them or on the 1/2 dose it goes away.
He said the alpha lipoic acid should help with that.
So this plan sort of resonates with me. Basically do the full antibiotics for a month, add in the teas also- slowly- get myself back to a better baseline than I am at now, and then transition to the teas.
So I can either do that or just do the teas. I think I will try what he suggested. Just because it sort of resonates with me. I feel that the antibiotics can knock it back, but just not get rid of it all ( for me).
I feel like if I were braver I would just do the teas.
He said he has heard of Houttoyunia but has not really used it so can't speak to that one.
He wants me to do the antibotics for two months- depending on how I feel, the second month at 1/2 dose. I guess I can handle all that.
What do you guys think? I am
open to all suggestions and responses.
