I've been following this issue.
Funny how the only people opposing the measure are IDSA-affiliated Canadian ID docs, huh? All other medical groups seem to be supporting it.

all appendages crossed, hoping our northern neighbors' gov't displays more common sense than ours down here in la-la land.

Yes, it is very "funny".

I listened to the infectious disease doctor present his case on this. He kept referring to Lyme literate doctors as "so-called Lyme literate doctors" in a condescending manner. He cited 3 cases where people were told they had Lyme Disease when they really had other medical conditions. How many times are people told they have other conditions when they really have Lyme? Many many more I am sure.

I was very impressed with the Senate Standing Committee who seemed to have done their research beforehand and now have unanimously referred the unamended bill to the Senate.

EXCELLENT PROGRESS…

Last wk I posted an interview that aired on CBC radio with Green Party leader Elizabeth May and an IDSA dude. She was well-spoken and basically said—"hey, we understand things need to change because our situation is changing so that's what we're trying to do."

He made the very revealing (and whiney) complaint that the current standards (and thus egos) are being made out to be insufficient. YES, AH. THEY ARE INSUFFICIENT. WHat in the world got into these yahoos that they think that lyme disease—and no other conditions—can't evolve over time? Or the science involved? Boy this works me up.
