I'm having my first (almost) symptom free morning since starting treatment! I know I almost certainly still have crashes ahead of me, but this is amazing.
This disease is a monster, but it definitely makes you appreciate the little things…

Congratulations!! How long have you been in treatment? Herbs or antibiotics or both?

IHL,
I've been in treatment since August - oral antibiotics, strict diet, and full herbal protocol. It has been grueling - lots of ups and downs. Lots of pain, exhaustion, and a few days where I legitimately think I lost my mind, BUT…I am finally having (almost) symptom free days. It's amazing.
I'll admit, I am in constant fear of how long this will last (it's only been a few days), BUT that being said, I've still had a wonderful time the past few days. Went to a party (I'm learning how to have fun sober), went out to dinner with friends, a few long walks! I'm making sure not to push it, but it's nice to get a little of my social/normal life back - even if it's just for a few days.
Two weeks ago, I looked at my husband and said "I don't remember what it's like to wake up without pain." Well..I finally REMEMBER, and it's pretty wonderful. Fingers crossed I get at least a solid week of this. We shall see…

What kind of herbal protocol are you using if you don't mind me asking?
I am thinking about
going to "full" herbal after being some herbal + mostly antibiotics
Good to hear good news. Always up lifting.

Thanks everyone! I'm going on day five of feeling better! It's been amazing. I talked to my Mom on the phone yesterday, and she wrote me an email this morning to tell me how different I sounded on the phone - like my old self. I also cooked dinner for a couple friends last night! I feel like a normal person, haha.
It's so weird - my social life COMPLETELY shut down when I was sick. I had no desire to go out and see people, I had such bad anxiety mixed with exhaustion. I've found that in periods of wellness, it's like my old personality comes back. I'm just more relaxed and silly and SANE. Don't underestimate how much this disease messes with your mental state. Like I mentioned in my first post, I had a week during treatment where I legitimately LOST my mind. It was scary, and I'm not sure I would have gotten through it without my husband. My heart goes out to people having to go through this on their own.
BUT…I know I'm still not totally back yet. My gut tells me I have (at least) a few herxes in front of me (hopefully small ones). The past two days, I've had a couple momentary dips that lasted about
an hour accompanied by slight pain. They're so slight, but they scare me cause I'm like…is this week of bliss coming to an end?!! When they fade, I let out a giant PHEW!! Man - this disease keeps you on your toes.
As far as my treatment goes, my LLMD is very patient specific. I tested positive for Lyme and Babesia. I also tested positive for mold in a nasal swab AND in the mycotoxin test (it's rare to test positive in a nasal swab - that's how bad my mold was). The Lyme also totally screwed up my stomach and my vitamin absorption.
Antibiotic-wise I'm on Ceftin, Clindamycin, and Bactrim. Bactrim was the worst herx. Clindamycin HCL was for the Babesia. I'm also on MC-BAB-2 (just added Crypto-plus). I take Amph-B & cholestyramine for the mold. I also take a billion supplements for EVERYTHING. I literally have two shopping bags full. It's so hard to know which ones did the trick cause I'm on so many.
I WILL say, I believe that Tri Fortify Orange from Researched Nutritionals Liposomal Glutathione is a great product. It's one of those things worth splurging on. Glutathione is critical to healing and the supplements don't absorb it in the same way. Check it out: https://www.researchednutritionals.com/store/item.cfm?code=CRN136
I read EVERYTHING I can about
this disease, and although there are some difference, I find my LLMDs way of treating Lyme is pretty similar to Steven Harris, who sums up his treatment style here…

If someone asked me what I think works? I'd tell them antibiotics, herbals, diet, and an LLMD who not only knows Lyme, but is well versed in co-infections, mold, nutrition, heavy metal toxicity, and candida.
Thanks again for the kind words! Here's hoping for another week like this one! GAH! We shall see...
