Waking up with heart pounding

Does anyone else have this? I have the tremors so bad that when I try to nap I feel like I can barely fall asleep and then I wake up feeling like my heart is bearing out of my chest and shaking. This happens when I wake up at night also.

this happens to me a lot, its awful. Have you had your adrenals checked? I had mine tested about 6 months ago, and it seemed normal....but I'm not sure how quickly that can change with Lyme and co. I'm going to do another saliva test soon

Yes, I had that for several months...and it's almost gone now...since treatment.

I echo what Mischa252 said - maybe have your adrenals tested.

I have this. Haven't found much to help. Taking about 600 magnesium at night and some camomile tea help reduce the pounding at night, but it comes and goes as it pleases during the day. For me the heart pounding is usually followed by a dinger of a headache

I had bloodwork done for my adrenals- that part was covered through insurance. I've heard mixed reviews about the saliva test and it is hefty at $280. Anyone have experience with either? Waiting in results from my CBC incl adrenals.

Happyjo, I'm on restoril and I find that helps too. Seems like benzos are a necessary evil at this point, huh? How long did it take for the abx to help with that symptom?

Been taking ambien? Totally agree with you on the need to take something to sleep. It's awful.
I was getting heart palps before the restoril unfortunately. :( I think the restoril has somewhat calmed them down bc I don't wake up feeling like I'm having a heart attack when I take it
