Elaina - I did the math from the numbers you gave and it sounds like you are on just over 8mg of CBD per day. I think I did that right. I did 250mg/60 servings = 4.17mg per serving (which you said is 15 drops) and then twice a day. I believe that's on the lower end of the dosage spectrum, but that's great that it's working!

Sknight - I looked at the Bulletproof version but I decided to go with the straight CBD oil (I actually went with the silver version which is a little more concentrated - and cheaper). I chose the standard oil just in case I didn't like one of the herbs or had a reaction to one of them and then I would be left with a useless, expensive bottle on my hands. I suppose I could always add in those herbs if I wanted to, but I'm not sure if I will or not.

Quilty - I'm sorry that they don't ship to Canada, I hope you can find somebody to ship some to you! Nobody should be denied medicine. Especially such powerful medicine that is so safe!

Dancingbear - interesting theory but I'm not fully convinced. THC has been known to exacerbate psychotic symptoms. Maybe it could be a little bit of both though. When I smoked cannabis I could only take the tinniest hit before negative symptoms set in so I doubt that I was getting enough of the medicine into my body to have very many beneficial effects. If I was in fact herxing from it that explains why I have had lyme for probably 7 years and am doing relatively well compared to how I could be doing.

Simela - it is actually standardized to have a certain amount of CBD (in milligrams) per bottle. It doesn't matter whether the CBD came from the cannabis sativa plant (marijuana), or industrial hemp. It's the exact same compound and will do the exact same thing. The only difference is that cannabis oil will include THC, which has many beneficial properties as well. However, many people don't tolerate THC well (and it seems that includes those who have psychotomimetic symptoms like many lyme patients). I'm glad that cannabis oil with THC is helping lymies though, that's fantastic! I know that I've tried THC/CBD capsules mixed and while they helped somewhat, the THC could be very overwhelming. That's interesting about the coconut oil helping with herxing. I put coconut oil in my coffee in the morning and cook with it so I will definitely continue to do that!

Traveler - Cibdex is also featured on the hempmedspx site that my LLMD recommend, if that means anything. I didn't look into that company that much though.

Simela (again) - there will be no difference between a high-CBD and low-THC oil extract from cannabis sativa and CBD extracted from the hemp plant as far as the CBD is concerned. The THC was probably helping their daughter but the hemp-CBD oil would probably be almost as good. CBD has excellent anti-seizure properties. The CBD-hemp extract does have some THC and some of the other cannabinoids found in cannabis sativa. I bet if you can handle the THC that it would be better to have that in there, but from what I've read it seems like CBD is really doing a lot in those cannabis oil mixtures.


I forgot to mention, my LLMD wants me on 50mg of CBD oil per day for three weeks, and then 2-3 days a week after that (this is only because of the expense, not because he wants patients to take less CBD oil). This seems on the high end. I bought enough to take it everyday after three weeks and will probably do so but maybe around 25mg per day depending on how I'm feeling. I might work up to 50mg as well, perhaps start at 25mg.

Bryguy: good to know, thanks for the info. But my concern is That some hemp oil is too cheap on amazon to be like the others that are 10 times as much. I am delighted that your llmd is recommending it and I wish you best of luck, I hope it helps you beat and kill all of the little monsters.

TRAV: yes, you r correct. That is the little girl, I just couldn't remember her name. On another note, there is another little girl that tried everything for seizures and could not stop them. They gave her 1/8 of a nicotine patch and she is seizure free. Crazy!

You are right, I am at a low dose and wanted to mention that I have super sensitivities to many things!! (putting it simply). So we always take the conservative approach when adding in a new piece. As I prepare for my follow up tomorrow, I wanted to note to you that my LLMD's protocol for me was written as follows: 15 drops (may slowly increase up to 45 drops per dose as needed) two times a day. However in his notes column (specific to me) it reads, recommend starting CBD oil at 3 drops a day (which I did, I think I said 1 drop in my first post). Slowly increase over the course of 2-3 weeks up to 15 or more drops two times a day as needed for symptom relief. He also notes that many patients notice symptom relief within days to weeks, however others take a couple of months to notice the benefits of this treatment. Just an FYI

I think out of options, we would also try just about anything. The nicotine patch story I found on youtube--a dr from a hospital in FL tried all kinds of treatements for this girl who was under 5, and combos of meds with terrible side effects and NOTHING worked to stop her seizures--they would go on for hours. This proves that the nicotine has some beneficial calming effects on the brain. But of course, smoking is bad because they add all sorts of chemicals to cigarettes. This girl was bed bounded and now she is taking dance classes! I think my son's seizures are related to lyme, and I wonder how many "epileptics" are misdiagnosed with "epilepsy" when they may acutually have lyme or other diseases that are causing the seizures!

God gave us all the natural remedies, we just have to use them. You never know where the remedy would come! That girl is seizure free just by using a little patch of nicotine every day! The doctor came up with the idea, after research. He is talking about it in that video, he is a specialist in epilepsy. So maybe this CBD oil will do miracles for some, but not everyone is the same, I guess that's why we have to constantly try what works for us.

Simela - I see, we're talking about different things. The cheap hemp oil that you are seeing on Amazon is different than what I am talking about. The stuff on Amazon (like you linked to) is just the oils from the plant, and it's a food product among other things. The stuff I'm talking about is CBD-enriched hemp-oil. The hemp oil is just the carrier for the extracted, concentrated alkaloids from the hemp plant. The amount of cannabinoids in regular hemp oil are negligible for the medical properties that we have been discussing. Hemp oil is still healthy, but doesn't have the medical properties of CBD that we have been discussing. The stuff that I am talking about (the 10x more expensive stuff) is that expensive because they have to use so much raw hemp material to concentrate it down enough to have good medicinal properties.

Elaina - thanks for the information on dosage and duration! Really helps.

Simela (again) - I'm so sorry! I didn't realize that your son is having seizures. I probably would have worded my posts a little differently if I knew that the problem was so personal to your family. My apologies if you had stated that earlier and I missed it. How is your son doing now? Have you tried either the nicotine patches or the CBD-enriched oil? Wow, this would be so great if it would help with anxiety. My LLND has often mentioned it for pain but I've declined. Lately I've been having what feels like seizures and it would be so great if this stuff worked. I hope more people will post who are using it.

No reason to appologize, in my case I have to be careful because I don't really need it. I am here for my son. Anyway, he got bit by a tick in 2013, got 1 mo of doxy, because he got the rash, and then in 2014 he started to have seizures but also all kinds of symptoms. He started abx mid december for a sinus infection (which didn't really go away still) and since then he's been seizure free, which leads me to believe his seizures are triggered by something, either lyme or co-infections. He is allergic to a few things so I won't try anything for him unless I am sure it won't possibly hurt him since I don't know what the cause of his seizure really are. But, really, I hope it works for you!

My son needs abx, that's what makes his seizures go away! He was getting them pretty much every 2 weeks. A couple of times he got 2 on the same night. He doesn't remember them at all. Last 2 were very bad, he stopped breathing and was gasping for air for 1.5 minutes and 2 minutes. He woke everyone up, that's how much noise he was making with his gasping, but he could not wake up himself. Whatever is cured by abx, that is the cause of his seizures. Kind of a long list! He is 10 and his seizures just started sept 2014. memory problems, numbness, pain, pain and more pain, migrains, sensitivity to light, about all of them on the long list except 4. Seizures don't cause all this, not seizures that you get 2 weeks apart anyway. There is too much of a pattern to believe there isn't an infection involved because the abx resolved much of his pain, too. He is at least 50% better but still has some bad days. So there, that's a summary of the story! we went to the ER 3 times within 2 months. He's been seizure free for 1.5 months :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your son Simela, my best wishes go out to you and him. At least he is seizure free now and on the road to recovery hopefully!

Update on the CBD oil: I've been taking it every day since Friday (3 or 4 days now). I've been taking approximately 35mg per day (on accident, I was meaning to take 50mg every day but the bottle had the wrong drops per dose, I E-mailed the company and got it straightened out). My initial impressions. After first taking it I herxed and my symptoms flared up for about 30 minutes. It seems like this stuff might actually kill some of the lyme, causing a herx and then healing the body from the symptoms of one, pretty crazy. It definitely brings some body relief to the inflamed joints. Anxiety seems to be a bit reduced as well. Pretty interesting compound. I'm excited to keep taking this. It's hard to say what it does in isolation exactly especially since I just started abx a week or so ago and so there are a lot of variables.

Dr. B says cannibus oil will not cure lyme, just relieve symptoms.... went through all this when my son was covinced it was all he needed!

Eva Sapi is currently doing a study on cannabis for Lyme and it has shown to kill the spirochetes. Now she is looking at whether or not it kills the cyst form. This came from Dr M.

Clara, even so, that's a lot more money a month when you are already at the end of your budget. I can't afford that.

I hope those studies hurry up!! LOL! It would be nice to have yet one more 'weapon' in our arsenal to fight these infections!!!

I used CBD oil too and experimented with it since being sick.

Ya it actually gave me a herx!!! But then relieved my inflammation and also kind of relaxed me and calmed me down.

I haven't been consistent with it's use though.

I have been wondering about this. I have never tried oil but used to be a smoker of this stuff. I read in one comment someone said that smoking kills lyme, does anyone know more about this? I felt like it was making me feel worse, well I couldn't really tell so I decided to quit for a bit. It definitely helped me with pain, relaxing, sleep and overall mood. But I am trying to be as healthy as possible so smoking anything seemed bad. My llmd has said no alcohol or tobacco so I kinda assumed it was a bad idea but maybe I was just herxing. I quit a month ago but I've decided that the benefits and mostly how much it improves my mood is worth it with all that is going on with my health. I'm going to use a vaporizer from now on to avoid putting smoke in my lungs. But I am interested in the oil now after reading this. I have seen so many comments on here. Does anyone know of the best oil to get for your money and a link to go with it? I got a little overwhelmed reading through this thread and didn't know where to start.

Marijuana extract in alcohol (or vegetable oil) tinctures is great for so many things, as well. I use it like I'd use neutramedix products.

Cannabinoids have amazing potential to prevent seizures. I've know epileptic people whom suffered from daily seizures completely prevent them with cannabis. CBD oil may very well prove useful.
