I could write a novel about
that post !!! ;)
I love this guy, too. I started reading his posts long before I found healingwell.com. I love MDs who write in such honest, raw ways about
their struggles treating this horrific condition.
A few thoughts—many people don't realize that some anti-depressants are actually antifungals. So, let's deconstruct that—crazy sx make MDs think their patient needs psychotropics so they put them on MDs that actually address an underlying fungal issue… Yet everyone leaves the party under the impression that the person was just psychologically unstable and they continue those meds for the rest of their lives.
And many MDs are not aware of a whole basketful of DNA mutations that leave people unable to fully process any medication (much less the harsh ones), as well as the illness or treatment itself. ETA: Also neurotransmitter imbalances lead to all sorts of conditions. Why is it that someone like me, who couldn't be further from the medical field than the USPS carrier… knows this stuff but they don't?
OK, rant over. ;)
back to this guy's blog… I don't know how much you've read but he did a total 180 over the years… go back and read some of his early stuff. He was very dubious and negative about
alternative treatments, some of the ILADS lyme positions, etc… and the more he learned (from actually treating patients) the more he grew... LOL
