Artemisinin causing intense itching all over?! Side effect?

I took artemisinin sod a few months ago for 3 weeks and did not experience any itching. My doc told me i was prob done with all my coinfections (babesia, bart., and mycoplasma) but to take the art. sod just to be sure i guess. Well the place i get it from online was out of stock for it for weeks. But i finally started taking it again Thurs, and this morning (Sat.) at 5am i woke up with intense itching all over my body!

The itching started from the armpits (and at first i thought it was cuz i just shaved there the other day) and then it migrated to my arms, hip joints, sides of stomach, face, neck ears and scalp. This lasted for about 3 hours before calming down a little. I thought it might be toxins building up inside me because when i woke up i also had some light twitching in my feet, so i drank some hot water with lemon and apple cider vinegar and ginger.

I also got raised bumps, some of them welt-like similar to bartonella cat scratch), along my arms, neck and shoulders. But i thought art. was for babesia not bartonella??

Later on i also had eye floaters and black and white dots appearing and disappearing. The thing was i felt fine!! i didn't have fatigue and stuff like when i herx.

Its 10pm now and the itching is starting back again on my face arms and scalp. Intense burning itching. I'm thinking its a bad reaction to the art. sod and not a herx/ toxin build up. I never experienced this before in my life so its not a latent symptom that i jus forgot about (i've been in treatment for 2.5 years).
And i also haven't changed my abx or diet (low carb low sugar low dairy for candida which i have basically under control).

Any advice please on what this could be? i think i'm not gonna take any more art. until because this honestly feels like an allergic reaction and i see my llmd on monday.

yes it could be a herx but i honestly doubt it. I have NEVER had this symptom. It has been an hour since my original post and i have big welts on my eye lids and hips (similar to cat scratch rash pictures) and red bumps in between my breasts. And yes it all itches, especially my face!!

I am taking 2 pills a day starting thurs. I'm skipping tonight because even if this is a herx and not a an allergic reaction then it is still TOO much for me.

And yes i am sure its related to the Artemisinin. I haven't changed my medicine or diet and i have been in treatment for 2 and a half years (thats after being sick for 7 years) so i know what symptoms my body goes through when it herxes and rashes and itches were never one of them.

Yea I am definitely stopping the artemisinin for now. The itching and rash seem to come and go throughout the day but I took Allerclear (Costco brand loratadine antihistamine) about 2 hours ago and so far the rashes and itching have reduced.

I don't want to go to the ER but if it starts affecting my breathing or inner throat I will have to 😞. It's a good thing I see my doc on Monday.

I'm jus surprised I'm having this reaction to art. When I've taken it before and it doesn't seem to be a common reaction cuz I can't find anything about it online.

no i am not using a different brand. I am using Research nutritionals Artemisinin SOD. but they were out of stock for weeks to months so my mom said maybe they made it stronger?

Ok today is my 3rd day with these hives (realized they more like are hives than rashes). I woke up again with it itching more than yesterday and have hives all along both forearms. I took some antihistamine last night but...doesnt seem to be helping too much.

Does anyone know what this is??? stopped artemisinin 2 days ago and still have hives!!!
