Just for clarification—do you mean "ceftriaxone"? the generic Rocephin? You're taking this via IV?

Regarding the ceftriaxone, it is not "experimental". Most people who are on IV abx are taking it in combination with cyst busters and other abx for co-infections. Your protocol seems rather typical.

I am also in CA (SoCal) and my insurance co covered a couple months. If you'd like to talk in more detail—please email me. You can click on the "envelope" icon beneath my name. My feeling is that the combination of the LLMD and the insurance is influential, meaning, there is a long-standing relationship there.

Another thought—most people pulse their abx. So being w/out for 3 days is not an issue. Your sx might spike but it won't adversely affect your tx. I'm 5 days on, 2 days off, which is common.

And as Girlie mentioned, detoxing is as important as the tx itself—if you can't get what you are killing out of your body effectively, the dead debris and toxins can do just as much damage and affect your progress. What goes in (abx) must come out (detox). There is a lot of great info here—you can start a new thread if you like, asking for detox ideas.

And—I will also throw this out there. I am very suspicious of an LLLMD who didn't preach detox to you… Also—why did a different MD also prescribe abx? Sounds like you do need an LLMD who can provide comprehensive and holistic care. Diet is critical, immune support with probiotics and yeast/fungal protocol are critical. Have you discovered any co-infections?

Regarding your lymphocytes—your levels—many levels will fluctuate throughout your treatment… Your body is dynamic, the infection goes into hiding and comes out of hiding and has its own lifecycle… Around here, treatment is described as peeling an onion—each layer you peel back reveals something new to be considered or treated or provides a basis for understanding your illness. For instance, many ticks carry high viral and fungal loads. So if you are not also treating for them, your immune system stays overwhelmed and it's tougher for the lyme treatment to work. Some people have DNA mutations that prevent proper methylation and detoxing without specific supplementing.

All this is why we need a good LLMD, need time to understand our individual "onion" and develop our own unique protocol. It's great that you found the forum—it's a great resource. Don't hesitate to ask any questions that come to mind—as someone else is probably wondering the same thing.
