My 3 year old son: I pulled an insect out of him, I don't know what it was. Please help!

I do not know if I can take it, with the possibility of yet another one of us infected, so I hope it is nothing. I spent the whole night trying to identify what I pulled out of my son's chest, but no success.

It was black and thin, not round like a tick. It was sitting perpendicular to my son's chest when I gave him a bath. This is really very weird because he didn't go out since Thursday and he took a bath every day, so I know it wasn't there. It didn't look like a tick, so I pulled it with my fingers.

At first try, it didn't come out, but the second time I pulled it, it came out. Then I put it on the edge of the tub and I looked at it but it didn't look like anything I have seen before. So I squished it and it was full of blood. I put some water of it and it completely dissolved, not sign of an insect.

His nose bled a little a couple of days ago, because he was running around and he fell, but it is weird that it was stuck to him like that, in a perpendicular position to his chest. Also, if it was dried blood, it shouldn't have had blood inside, but be all dried within a day.

I didn't see any legs. it was sort of thin and about 1/4 inch long. I looked at his chest and I can't see anything.

Any ideas of what it can be? I tried to identify it but it doesn't look like anything. It wasn't thicker and longer than an ant, but it didn't look like an aunt either.

I really don't know where to hide from those disgusting creatures! Any ideas what it can be, all black, ant size looking? I don't have perfect vision, so it is possible it had legs, I just didn't see any.
