What is the Best tests to get done for lyme and co infections???

My LLND is coming to my home on this Thurs to take blood samples to send away to the States. I live in B.C.

He told me that my test will be Western Blot and that it doesn't cover co infections or Bart ( which he now suspects i have).

He told me he will be treating me by my symptoms because testing will be way to expensive apparently.

He recently found a virus that I'm fighting that is another layer uncovered by protical I'm on.

I have neuro symptoms and wonder if i should get tested for that as well?? I'm confused by all the tests out there. What is the difference between tests in Germany and the States?

Can someone clarify to me why the tests cannot just find the Spirochetes swimming around in tissue or blood?

A good scientist and a doctor, knows you cant be treated for an infection(if there is no actual obvious signs asuch as lesions), just by the symptoms, to me it sounds a little scammish, and unneccesary. I dont know if you can order tests your self to pay for it in BC, i know there are labs in USA that will do blood tests, for several hundred

My doc is sending to usa Western Blot test...i have to pay $400 for this test alone.

I'm wondering if other tests can and should be done for co infections and Neuro? If so...what am i looking at expense wise?

My LLND is a good friend of my fiancé. They've been buddies for yrs...so I'm very fortunate to have this doc in my life!

My symptoms are chronic and I'm bed ridden. I was trialed on Tinidazole 500mg 2 in morning and 2 in evening for 5 days on and 5 off. Well my symptoms spiked so bad i thought i was going to die!! He took me off the abx for now and has me on L-Lysine for a virus that was uncovered. My feet hurt sooooo badly i can't walk...so my doc has suspension that I have bart Now as well.

I think igenex, everyone was mentioning it, a basic test is around 275, a full panel for lyme is 475, I dont know about coinfections, does canada insurance pay for it?

I posted above website so you can research. Igenex was the test I used that showed what the problem was. My original western blot was not positive "enough" for my general M.D. although my LLMD's said it was obviously positive. I too paid out of pocket and am glad I did!

No...i wish! I have to still send money for testing. I will ask my doc about Igenex though!

I'm currently being detoxed very slowly cause i have a large amount of toxicity over 35 yrs. I have trouble expelling toxins because of KPU (Pulerria)

The Igenex Western Blot - IgM and IgG is $200.00 plus the Fedex fee plus your ND's fee to do the draw. It might have been cheaper to go to Lifelabs with the signed requisition.

This is not true. LLMD's and LLND's OFTEN treat based on symptoms as the testing is unreliable and often produces false negatives.

My LLND did not test me for co-infections - as those tests are even MORE unreliable than the Lyme tests.
He is going to treat me based on my response to the lyme treatment and on symptoms.

Re: Insurance - Our basic coverage does not pay for the Igenex testing. I also have Blue Cross and I didn't submit it yet, so not sure if it is covered.

lymedisease1....do you have lyme? If so, you really believe a doctor shouldn't treat without a positive test? That seems weird.

My LLND told me the same thing about tests and treating whether I'm pos or neg. Im showing way to many symptoms to not fool around apparently lol!

After my doc has a hold on my symptoms, he is putting me on a very powerful Biophotonics protocal. He thinks that it will eradicate 80% of the bug with specific frequencies. So herxing won't be as bad as being on abx!!! I can't wait!!!
