LOL I am in the sciences too, and finished my masters a long time ago. I trusted the MDs, until one day I could no longer walk or pick up my daughter and when I started to walk, I was walking in the wall rather than avoiding it.
Lyme disease it's NOT a new disease, it has been around for thousands of years. It was discovered in 1975 in Connedicut, but it has been around for a long time! It is documented. What changed is HOW our body responds to it.
But you can continue to spend your money on the MDs that follow outdated guidelines if you want. I did that too, until they sent me to a neuro and he sent me to a psych dr! They are doing the same thing to my son! It goes like this:
PCP-NEURO-PSYCH
Ironically, my sister is a psych RN nurse and one of my best friends is a Psych MD that thought in med school as well. She has a lot of experience and is now retired. I've known her for 20 years. NEITHER of them know anything about lyme disease the way we do here. Neither of them believe I need a Psych dr because they really know me.
My husband's cousin was a neurosurgeon (he is now retired). He contracted lyme too. He told me it doesn't go away. When I asked him for a ID dr to treat me, he gave me the name of a LLMD! Imagine my surprise! He worked in a university hospital, teaching med students, writing med books, and he could not come up with a name of ONE ID dr willing to treat me using my insurance! You judge for yourself, we all tried to use our insurance. Believe what you want. I tried to use the back door too. IT IS CLOSED! I was lucky to be treated at all! My life is worth more than a few grand! My children deserve a mother that can pick them up and play with them, not one that was laying on the couch and had to crawl to the bathroom. If you do have lyme, the loger you wait, the longer it will take for you to treat. $1000 today may turn into $100000 in a few years--yes, there are people that spend that much to get well, not because they want to, but because they are on their dead bed from Lyme. And no one will help them, they send them to the psych drs!
IT is the food, the pesticides, the electromagnetic fields, and so much more that make us vulnerable to diseases like never before. But they won't teach you that in your science classes! We are reaching the point of no return! My son feels worse at school because now everyone has a cell phone! How are we going to convince the young generation and everyone else to give it up? We can't! We reached the point of no return and we don't even know it--that is most of us! A small number in the general populations and MDs know it.
Good luck to you! I wish you all the best!
