New tests being ordered by doctor

HI, so I feel like I am at a stand still. I feel better than before, but only by 50% or so. I went to my Doctor today and he is ordering the MTHFR, C3a and C4a. Can anyone tell me what these are for? I know somewhat about the MTHFR, but the others I have no idea.

Also, he wants me to test my house for mold and get a air purifier. This last weekend my husband and I found out we have a pretty bad mouse problem. We have cleaned that up, including getting a new stove. The doctor thought my continuing symptoms may be environmental. One reason he came to that conclusion was that I was feeling really good for the 12 days we went on vacation.

any words of wisdom or helpful hints would be very much appreciated.

Thanks for your response achievinggrace. I am confused about the C3a and the C4a. There was another test that he ordered along with these, but I cant remember what it is called.

So I got my results back on my CBC panel. Last year I had 2 things that were out of range. This test is absolutely perfect. All my counts are right in the middle of the range. I am happy about that. I hope it means that I am moving in the right direction. I have been eating a very restrictive and healthy diet for about a year now. I guess that is why. I am still waiting for the rest of the results. I will post them here when I get them.
