For my fellow Canadians in the Prairie Provinces, just thought I would post this....in case you didn't know about her.

She has high ratings - and is ILADS trained.

Hi Girlie,

Yes I have heard of her!  She is a good pick but the only issue is she is much more expensive than Dr. C.  I'm also reading she can be a source of antibiotics, I'm not sure how they implement that since this is in Alberta I think because she has a BC practice as well. 

I'm going to stick with Dr. C though as it saves money.


There is supposed to be a LLMD... Yes MD that treats Lyme in Alberta but I have yet to find out about him.  This was posted by another member.

We now have a few LLND's in Victoria (tip of Vancouver Island) - so a bit easier, quicker trip for me, but I'm staying with Dr. C. - as he does phone appts. Also, there is a new one in Courtenay/Comox (even closer to me) - moved from Eastern Canada. He practices 'biological medicine'. I called, and he charges a lot.
I'm planning to see Dr. C. the end of March in though. Going to Vancouver already for Maroon 5, so since we're there, I've scheduled an appt. for the next day.
Although, don't know if I will last until end of March...I'm starting now to get antsy for bart treatment - Rifampin I guess.

Remember with rifampin it is crucial to take it on a totally empty stomach. Otherwise the food will absorb the rifampin!!! It is one antibiotic that needs to be taken on a total empty stomach.

I took food and had just some almonds and it still won't absorb! Or I would take it before supper and eat 15 minutes later - it won't absorb even then! Literally has to be on an empty stomach and no food for at least an hour after. I go pee to make sure it turns Orange and that's how I know it absorbed properly. It should turn orange about 1 hour after taking it if I took it properly.
