No, it is not true. I'm not sure what anyone has to gain by making such a statement. They certainly haven't proven that! The Igenex test is more sensitive that the standard ones.
Have a look at our "New to Lyme?" thread at the top of the forum. It has good and accurate information.

I have personally heard from many people who receive Igenex Negative test results (so I think that statement is false).

I think what they meant was their test are so sensitive that most people will show some bands. Not knocking Igenix but saying that if everyone was tested they would have some show up. What do yall think about
that??? I just received these results today so Im trying to learn!

justinj - yes, Igenex tests are more sensitive than others....but they're sensitive to lyme antibodies that we produce....which is what we want.
If our body is producing antibodies to lyme bacteria...then it means exposure.

You have Lyme, justinj - no doubts about
it (sorry).
Sorry you're dealing with so many clueless doctors. It certainly doesn't help matters.

I had a negative from Igenex, so it does happen. My LLND is treating based on symptoms, I recently had a positive babesia test come back so were assuming I have lyme even though igenex said negative.
