I know I mentioned a lot of places but I am willing to travel anywhere on the east cost to be treated. I am sort of desperate because I worry a lot more now with things feeling worse recently. How did you all cope with the frustrations of no one understanding at first?

I was fortunate that my husband knew something was seriously wrong with me and was very supportive.

But the Doctors - getting passed from Dr to Dr and no one taking me seriously. I was told by at least 4 Drs that my symptoms were peri menopause related.

Hang in there Cupcake - when you see a LLMD and get a diagnosis you will feel some relief.

Maybe there is a support group near you and you can go to the meetings.

And there's always us here on the forum. We know what you're going through and will help as much as we can,

I just wanted to echo Girlie's reassurance. It is a wonderful feeling when your LLMD just nods when hearing your symptoms and says, "Right, well let's get you better then."

I went to my first appointment loaded for bear, ready to defend my position, and it was all unnecessary. He totally accepted everything I had to say and treated it as normal. What a relief!!

Hope you find a good doctor soon.

Achievinggrace - same with me.
My first appointment with my LLND - I was worried....thought he might say I didn't have lyme disease (even though I had an Igenex positive in my hand).

After the run-arounds, we get defensive, right?

And how do you cope when others don't understand what you are going through?
a) come here and vent.
b) find those that do understand. There is likely a Lyme support group that you can attend.
c) never stick with a doc that doesn't understand.
