Sinus Infection

Hi all

So I've been doing Bicillin shots for ~3 months with no improvement but my doctor wanted me to complete the 12 weeks. I wasn't badly reacting or anything so I tolerated it, but I wasn't getting better. I only have been doing the 1.2 million dose, once a week. I couldn't tolerate anything more.

I get frequent sinus infections, a couple a year, but I haven't had one since the summer since I've been on antibiotics. I felt myself getting sick (sinus pain) the last few weeks, and it has bombared into a sinus infection. I went to my primary care doc and got an antibiotic for the sinusitis yesterday.

I didn't tell the primary cary doc about the Lyme and all (they won't understand), I'm just surprised I was able to get a sinus infection when I was already on the Bicillin shots! I guess they just weren't a high enough dose to knock it out. (Needless to mention I'll be skipping the shot this week)

I don't know, I just wanted to see if you guys had any insight.

Could your sinus infection be a symptom of the Lyme infection? My son had a chronic sinus infection and was prescribed 1 mo of doxy. The sinus infection still didn't go away by second week of abx and the neuro concluded it was allergy related--which is not. They love to blame allergies on everything and don't bother to check further.

Eventually the "cronic sinus infection" went away by week 3 and stayed away for a month. So I think it is a symptom, not related to an additional bacterial infection causing sinus problems. He has sinus infections every few months and they go away with abx but also he feels better with the other Lyme symptoms while on abx, so that is my theory, that it is a symptom. I do not think is fungal in his case because it comes while he is not on abx and maybe a month or 2 after the abx ended.

Hmm, yep that makes sense^^^. Sinus stuff is a symptom of lyme. Was one of my first actually. Im not on meds at moment (going to see llmd tomorrow to start a new regiman) but Ive been flaring and DEF having sinus issues along with alot of other lyme symptoms flaring. Have blew out 2 thumb tip sized bloody mucous gunks in last week -Sorry if thats T.M.I.!))
