Impromptu LLND appt. today!!!

I emailed my LLND a few days ago - with a photo of my rash that lasted 24 hours. I also sent my lab results showing my high liver enzyme (ALT) and lowered WBC count.

I asked him in the email if my sudden rash could be bart - even though it wasn't streaks/scratches...as I have seen some photos on the internet that look similar.

His receptionist phoned me a few minutes ago and said he wants a 15 minute appt. if possible - today...so I scheduled on for this afternoon.

Now, I'm fretting. Maybe because of my lab work he's going to pull me off of antibiotics. Or, maybe in light of the rash...he's going to give me Rifampin.

I don't like surprises...I'm a control freak.

Maybe he's going to give me 'heck' for stopping my antibiotics for the 5 days (I decided to do it after I got the wonky lab results) - My PCP gave me another lab req. and I retested and they have improved some...so i went back on the abx.

The suspense is killing me...lol

I don't think he will give you trouble. I was a little concerned with my last appointment because i stopped my Bactrim DS. I thought I might have an allergy. My LL did not think so. It was not a problem. She told me that I could have called.

It will be okay! He might change up your meds.

Would love an update! I'm guessing it's abx related. My doc tests my liver and all monthly and doesn't mess around

Utahgal - you'll get your muscle back...don't worry. Mine has come back somewhat in my legs, arms, and butt. My back looks ugly not just with the lack of muscle tone, but the rash, and also after lyme hit me I got a bunch of brown spots - I guess they're moles...not raised though. yuck. Oh well, how often do I prance around in a bikini...or a backless dress....not often...

okay - just had my phone appt. with my LLND.

He wanted to discuss my rash and my liver enzymes that were raised.

He wants me to up the milk thistle - to 6 caps per day.
He wants me to take L-acetyl cysteine. I used to take it, never knew it was for the liver.
He wants me to get the lipoic acid - the one with the R in front of it...I'll have to check the email he sent me of the notes he made. I have the alpha lipoic acid - but he wants a better one....

then he said next time I do the blood work, make sure it's not when I'm taking my tinidazole - so I have to have one full day off it when I test. (I pulse it two days per week).

After I got off the phone, I checked the calendar and my test with high liver enzymes was the next morning after takin tinidazole....so he may be onto something.


He said the rash could be lyme - and it's coming out as a reaction to the tini busting the cysts.

You could keep an eye on your tests for awhile and reasses -avoiding testing right after your tini. If you're tests are more normal, you could ask him whether you could cut back on the supplements. Just a thought.
