DOES MY DAUGHTER HAVE LYME DISEASE?? HELP PLEASE!

I've read symptoms and there seems to be so many. Basically right now we are dealing with a cold cough and a low fever of 99.6 since March 5th....the low fever is what has me concerned that it is still here and there. Her normal body temp is usually 97.5 or so. When I go to the drs Monday should I just ask for the Igenex test? I know some people said it is hard for drs to sign off on it. I've never heard of this test or lab. Its the 23 band that has me concerned. She does nor have a rash but where the ticks bit her on her scalp is always very itchy. I assumed it was dry scalp because it is dry. The itching did not start until after the bites. I have an appt with an infectious disease Dr April 20th. I truly appreciate everyone's responses and concern!!! Thank you!

Hi Nicole,

Most doctor's offices do not have the Igenex test kit on hand. You need to order it from the company itself. They send it directly to you and then you take it to the doctor's office to get the blood drawn and papers signed. You can order the kit here: www.igenex.com/Website/#

Your other option is to find a Lyme Literate Doctor who is associated with ILADS (International Lyme and Associated Disease Society). We can help you find one if you start another post entitled "Seeking Pediatric LLMD near (state your nearest big city)" or you can go to the ILADS site and ask for a doctor recommendation. ilads.org/

I'm afraid the Infectious Disease Doctor is not going to be much help for you and your daughter.
