keeping our pets safe from ticks

I use those little tube things on my dog and cat once a month. My cat never has any when I check him but our dog has been getting bit like 10 times a day lately. They die when they bite her but still Need to be pulled off.

I put Lyme nosodes in her water everyday to protect her from infection but is there anything else I could be doing? I put nutritional yeast on her food too, someone told me the bugs don't like it a long time ago. I'd hate for my pets to get sick :(

We treat our yard a couple times a year too but living on 80 acres with a 100 pound dog that roams free ticks still happen.
