Back when I was sick and didn't know I had Lyme yet, I had been talking back and forth with a woman I met along the way. We found that we shared many similar symptoms. She had been testing and testing for so many things and never got any answers, and wasn't getting any better physically no matter what she did.
I recently emailed her and told her that I finally found out I had Lyme. She had kind of a weird response to me, but ultimately she said "I tested positive for Lyme a few years ago, but didn't trust the positive test". She said she started to treat with antibiotics at one point, but they didn't help, so then she didn't trust the positive test and stopped, never doing anything else to treat.
So....I wasn't really sure how to respond to this! Couldn't this possibly mean that the reason she is still currently sick is because she stopped treating and she's just been living with Lyme for years?
