I too required a trigger. I'm sure I had the Lyme way before I "hit the wall" though. My trigger was a triple whammy coming all within 6 months. A very destructive flood, my job transfer and a fight with my oldest daughter (38) that resulted in us not speaking (we are on much better terms now). That was in 2010-11
I think our bodies can fight any illness, be it bacterial or viral, if we have a very strong immune system. Stress is a killer. If I'd known then, what I know now, I would have chilled out and not taken everything so personal. But you know what they say about hind sight.
The symptoms came on strong and I played the dr game. The problem I had was, that I didn't have a regular dr. So no one knew what I was like before I got sick. How frustrating to have doctors look at you like you're just looking for pain pills. They didn't know that I used to be active, strong and somewhat healthy.
Sure I think we can all look back and say, 'wow, was that pulled muscle in my back and shoulder really Lyme? How about that nasty gut issue that made me suffer for 2 months? How about freaking out about little stuff like floods, fights and a stupid job?' Could all of those type of things been part of the Lyme? I don't know that the beginning point is as important as where you are today.
Here is the weird thing though; every time one of my kids or family members mention any little ailment, I right away wonder if it's one of the symptoms of Lyme. I really don't want anyone to suffer the way I did for so long without knowing what was wrong.
Maybe we were meant to get this so we could educate others. I know, it's a reach, but I need a reason why. My entire family has been bit many times by ticks and they're not sick. Why?
