help reading my daughters Igenex test results

I'm not sure if my daughters test is neg or pos can anyone please help me. My llnd isn't in till next Weds. Thank you

Her IGM is Igenex Indeterminate

She does have two positive doubled-starred bands, though, and one IND double starred band.
This means she has been exposed to lyme bacteria and her antibodies are present.

A LLND will take into consideration - her symptom history, whether she had a bullseye rash, along with the test results and clinically diagnose her.

Many, many people do NOT get a positive WB test - even with Igenex.

Let us know how the appointment goes. Is your daughter symptomatic?

Piggybacking on what Girlie said- it looks like she has been exposed to Bb in the past and could potentially have an active infection since she shows positive on two double-starred bands as well as IND for 83-83 which is also Bb specific. Let us know what the LLND comes back with.

Hi Girlie....

I looked at the bands again and again praying it's negative. But I needed to post this test too see if all of you are seeing what I am seeing to be true. Yes she has many symptoms unfortunately...since birth. I had lyme congenitally and believe my 12 yr old daughter got in the same way :(

When she was born, she did nothing but cry. Especially when we put her in the car. (Later on when she was old enough to tell me, she said she gets severely dizzy and nauseous with movement). Her tummy was always swollen looking and strange rashes (not related to acid from urine), would appear. Shes closterphobic...she wouldn't even let me swaddle her. She NEVER slept when she was supposed to (till this day she has to have melatonin just to get to sleep properly). Fractionated sleep was always an issue, (made me so frustrated). Dark purple circles around or under her eyes... (especially when she was just about to get a cold). Skinny, I couldn't get her to eat properly, ( till this day she can't stand certain textures, tastes, and smells). SOCIAL ANXIETY since baby on till now, (to the tenth power x infinity squared!!). Extremely introverted to the point of agoraphobia, (worries the hell outta me). She never had much strengh and very weak, (till this day she has problems in P.E.). Her teacher thinks she may be anemic....(if he only new). She suddenly needed glasses in grade 5. She is starting to get Alopecia like me... (hair loss). She has one dime sized hypopigmentation spot on her back.. ( I have it on my side). I took her to an md a few yrs back trying to figure out what her strage rash was in certain spots all over her body, the doc said it looked like Keratosis Polaris. She seemed to always have air hunger especially when she would try to read out loud. Constipation since baby on. Random stomach cramps that have her keeled over in pain. She only feels safe with her cousin to play with since she was a baby. She gets very irritated very fast at silly little things since she was a baby. She's hypersensitive... (I could never raise my voice at her or she would cry or take off). She would scream at the top of her lungs when she was a baby when ever I tried to take her into a store. Her fears are irrational... ( deathly affraid of the dark still, she needs the tv on, and 3 other sources of light at bedtime ). Her short term memory is getting ridiculous. She even forgets what kind of homework she has to do, even after she brought it home! She gets fatigued easily....but gets insomnia horribly. When she does sleep...she sleeps forever!! I have to give her vit B12 to help her wake up.

I forgot to add that her CD57 test is 68.

Wow, that's a lot of symptoms for a child.

I think you're on the right track, STP.

Side note: Some of what you describe - is familiar to me regarding my son's childhood. After 9 years of searching for an answer, we found out he had the antibodies for gluten and was diagnosed with Celiac disease. Thank God for the locum who was replacing his current Dr. and thought of it. His symptoms that had us looking - anemic, low hemoglobin and feritin, constipation.

Some of the other things that I saw in your post: very limited in the foods he liked (would not eat meat - the smell, feel and taste made him want to vomit) - had to force him to eat vegetables. He would pick out the softest shirts to wear, loud music bothered him, his senses seemed to be on high alert all the time.
He had trouble swallowing certain foods. He was weak - and was stumbling when he ran - he said his legs just gave out. Very poor performance in sports. He was very constipated since about two months old. He was so bad at sports...that it affected him in gym class.

Since eliminating gluten, he is better.
I'm not suggesting that your daughter has Celiac disease...but what I'm wondering is if maybe my son's gluten intolerance was triggered by Lyme disease. I'm starting to think I've had mine for a very long time...and my husband is showing signs/symptoms...so maybe it's "all in the family".

Oh....and she is also plagued with nose bleeds and kanker sores since forever.

Unfortunately, she does have some Lyme specific bands present. Hope your LLND appt goes well!

My daughter is also gluten intolerant and so am I. I'm wondering if that's caused by Lyme as well! My daughter is sometimes referred to as lazy...I unfortunately believe it's due to Lyme :(

Did you and your daughter have high antibodies for gluten intolerance?

I think the range is <20 - anything over that and you have gluten intolerance.

My son's number was over 200. Don't know how much over, as they stop counting at 200.
It took over a year to get his number down below 20.

We never did the biopsy of the small intestine. By the time we saw the gastroenterologist, it was two months later, and I had taken him off gluten...wanted him to get well right away. The Dr. said we'd have to do a gluten challenge and feed him gluten everyday for a month or so...I think it was...and then have the biopsy done to prove there was damage. We decided not to have it done - I did not want to poison him with gluten...especially as we had already started his healing.
But, we made a deal with my son, (he didn't want the biopsy) that we would rely on regular blood work to keep him 'honest' with his diet and he was to remain gluten free the rest of his life. That was the deal we made. We can tell if he's been eating gluten and damage is done because his antibodies go up, along with his feritin going down below range.

So, now he's turning 22 and hasn't been continuing with the blood work...and I nag him.
He's at an age where he's not so concerned about his health. We go out for dinner, and he orders a gluten free meal...and the server asks, "is this just a preference, or is there an allergy"...my son says 'no allergy'. It's like he's embarrassed, or doesn't want anyone to have to go to trouble and accomodate him.

I can't control him, he's out of the house living his life...I pray he stays healthy.

Wow Girlie...

Sorry to read that you have been through so much with your son, it must be very frustrating that you can't get through to him because of his "so called embarrassing moments".

My LLND was trained by Klinghardt, so he does alot of muscle testing diagnosing. So according to the Klinghardt way, my daughter and I both are Gluten intolerant. But I'm very interested in finding out the numbers!

Could you please let me know how to go about testing? Thanks

It's a blood test - and the one that we got was Tissue Transglutaminase Antibodies tTG - IgA
There are others - but I believe this one is like 98% positive in people with Celiac disease if (and here's the thing) - if they are on a gluten diet.
So, what that means, is you would have to do a 'gluten challenge' and have her eat gluten for several weeks...unless she just recently stopped eating gluten products. Then maybe it wouldn't take several weeks.

I think if you go to your PCP and say you've noticed a reaction when your daughter eats gluten...and you would like to have her tested. But, again, do you want her back on gluten and feeling lousy again?

If she's cheating, and there is still some gluten in her diet, then it might be only a week or so of eating gluten regularly before producing a positive tTG-IgA.

I know the Doctor was not happy that I didn't have the biopsy done of his small intestine to "prove" he had damage. I didn't want to re-damage his intestines when he had stopped gluten for a few months. And, when his tTg-IgA numbers were finally in the right range, his feritin levels also were in the right range...and he wasn't constipated anymore. So, we know the villi in the small intestine were most likely healthy again, as they were absorbing the iron from his food.
