Does anybody have any advice. My daughter has been suffering from irregular periods for the past three years ovarian cyst now she daily headaches and has knee pain back pain and neck pain and it's both knees! and over you can seem to find issue we've been to several doctors had MRIs nothing conclusive except they recommend physical therapy. Today however she went to her gynecologist specialist for pediatrics who read her blood work results and is claiming she has polycystic ovary syndrome. I have posted earlier this month but I just need to know if she could have lyme. Western blot neg. all absent. I just can't see how 15 yr old can have all these issues in her young body. They are sending her for a glucose test this week now.
All of this heated up since the fall. Prior to that the irregular periods were like I said about 2-3 yrs now. I found a tick on her at 5... No treatment and was not privy to the protocol with darn ticks. No rash

Hi toridemi, Weren't you going to take your daughter to your LLMD? She should be diagnosed clinically. A negative test result does not mean she doesn't have Lyme. She could have a very long held infection (you said you pulled a tick off her when she was five), or have coinfections, or have a strain of Lyme that the test doesn't detect. All of these things could produce a negative test result.

I would recommend taking her to an LLMD, do you have one?

Yes I am and the funny thing is my LMD staff one of the staff is relocating to upstate and we are following her there because she treated me very well she's a nurse practitioner and her appointment is actually next week but this came up prior I wanted to make sure I had all her lab results in my hand for that appointment

I agree, she needs to be seen by a knowledgeable doctor - a LLMD is the only way to go!! Her symptoms sure sound like Lyme, and Lyme isn't supposed to be disregarded just because of a negative Western Blot!

Please let us know how her appt goes!!!

If I were you, I would insist the doctors also check her thyroid. I had problems with my period and that was the cause. After I started thyroid meds, my periods regulated. I was exhausted all the time and I could hardly stay up, day or night, but this doesn't happen to everyone. Thyroid hormones can cause a lot of problems.
