Confused, looking for information on Lyme disease

Hi Everyone, I am new to this, but am desperatly seeking information. I have contacted all the Lyme disease groups, but it is all emails and no real person.

about two weeks ago, I began having vibrations in my chest. This is something I have never experienced, it is really weird. I also had a tingling or jerking type thing in my arms. The thing that seems to be constant is it only happens when I am asleep and it wakes me up or if I am resting, not when I am up and walking around doing things. Another thing is, I do not know how to take a pulse as I was scared my heart was about to blow up. But I put ear plugs in my ears so I could hear my heart beating and it sounded just fine, like it always did. That really threw me off. I did get bitten by a deer tick about three years ago and I was told all about the "bulls eye." I did not have it, but honestly, I was doing research online and found people that got Lymes disease and did not get the bulls eye either. I also found other people with Lymes that had the exact symptoms I have now, only when resting or asleep and heart was beating normally.

I have YET to be able to see if this is all true. I doubt people would lie on these forums. Never in a million years would I have ever thought about Lyme disease. And the thing is, I have a brand new PCP so I called them and told them I was actively having heart palpitations daily and they gave me an appointment THREE PLUS weeks away, so I feel totally deserted here. I do have an appointment with a heart doctor this Friday, so I would love to take him so information. So please, has anyone out there with Lymes disease ever heard or experienced such symptoms that I am having. Please, I would love to hear from ya'll...I feel totally in all alone here with this and only have research to try and obtain information. Thanks to everyone who responds. Lyme can cause vibrations, numbness and tingling and heart issues, such as palpitations and racing.

You don't have to get the Bulls Eye to get Lyme Disease. Since you you were bitten by a tick and you're having symptoms, I would strongly suggest getting tested through IGENEX and getting in to see an ILADS trained Lyme Literate doctor ("LLMD").

OMG, Thanks to all of you who answered. I never imagined, I would have gotten so many responses from such nice people, so soon. I did change the profile to include my email and also my location which is Pittsburgh, PA. Hopefully, I did it right....LOL

Thanks for the heads up on the heart doctor, I just thought if anything we would rule out the heart as I certainly do not want any heart issues. In fact, since I posted this till now, I have called the CDC and my insurance has a type of "Ask a nurse" hot line, which I spoke to the nurse and could tell, it was from a printed list of symptoms and normal things with Lyme, which honestly, I have already read. Either way, I do appreciate all the info coming in.

I was unable to locate the forum I read all this stuff on, unfortunately as someone said it could come on later after the tick bite. LIke something set it as active. Please excuse me if I am not using the proper wording here, this whole thing is new to me. See honestly, there is a bit that I did not include, which I felt was important to the doctor to know the journey I have traveled to get where I am at today, but not important to the whole lyme disease. In Feb I was diagnosed with an ulcer due to my high use of aspirin and etodolac which is an anti inflammatory, as I have two broken bones in my lower back and it is basically impossible to get on any type of pain management these days with the "witch hunt" they have with pain meds. Im saying all this because the gastro doctor gave me something called "Protonix" for the ulcer and it was shortly thereafter these vibrations began. They were very strong. They told me to discontinue the meds, so I have, but the vibrations continued, just less intensity. (over two weeks now since I discontinued it, so total I have been having these vibrations now 8 weeks, every day.) Now this could all be a coincidence, which is why I did not include this.

I was asked about joint pain, but honestly, I have two bad knees and these broken bones, so I would have just attributed any pain to those. Basically, I hurt all the time, so how would I know the difference?

But Like I said, I am going to inform the heart doctor about this as a possibility and hopefully, he will just do the heart check. Lets rule that either in or out first. I just have a feeling its not my heart as it did sound normal beating when I listen to it.

Yes, I would be interested in knowing of Lyme knowledged doctors in my area. Im sure at some point, that might be where I end up.

Oh and I was also told by my doctor when he cut the tick out of me. See a friend who said they could remove this tick without incidence, could not and basically cut it in half, so a doctor had to literally cut it out of me. He said it was early in the season and chances are that the tick did not have a chance to bite an infected animal. Does that make sense to you guys?
