I think I may have found out why treatment isn't working. I've had high histamine for a couple years and never thought very much of it. I was told I had hypocomplentemia, or histamine intolerance. Anyway, I saw a new post on the LymeMD blog about it and it struck me.

I asked my doctor to be tested for a mast cell issue. I get really swollen all the time. I feel like I can't breath and my privates get so swollen I can't go pee. This may be the missing piece to my puzzle!

I was wondering if any of you have any information on this? I talked to someone on Facebook about it and they said that ABX make mast cell issues very reactive. I've been steadily declining this whole time. May as well rule this out while I'm getting bloodwork next week anyway.

Hi Razzle. How are you? I remember you from 5 years ago but I haven't seen you posting. I hope you are feeling better.

I don't know anything about this issue but I did a search and I ran out in the article Razzle posted and it sounds like a lot of the symptoms match yours. I think you should also have some complete checks of your thyroid and adrenal gland--that way at least you can rule things out.

I hope you will get some answers next week. Hang in there :)

Ya my thyroid has been low for years and no one has ever treated me for it. My pcp said she couldn't find the cause of it she didn't feel comfortable giving me any thyroid meds. My Lyme doc has never mentioned it. I'm being treated for adrenal fatigue though with hydrocortisone.

I want to feel better so Bad.

If your PCP doesn't feel comfortable to give meds when needed, she shouldn't be a PCP. Can't you find someone else, more qualified to take charge of your health? I never heard something more stupid :(
